What about the single most devastating moment? The ankle tap on Crocker in 2004 would have to be up there.

That loss was a travesty, we were a far superior side than them.
      It was an arsey win.
Having to watch the Sattler replay over and over again.
We were camped in their quarter and couldnt put enough points on.
      Finch, bloody Finch.
Losing a hooker like Bonetti, thats why I value Jake so much.
Yeah Finch bloody Finch alright. He was even more awful than usual that night. Should never have played first grade for us again after that game. The stubbornness of Ricky....

Given Crocker's propensity for brain snaps (would fit in well with the current mob) we were by no means certain of scoring from that play.

I can't believe Ricky started Finch on the bench.

He'd been starting half all year I think. And then brings him off the bench with Crocker's lumbering service for the first 15min or so allowing Penrith to get up on us and turn it into a slug fest. Can't have helped Finchy's confidence.

          Stupid stupid stupid

The two missed three-peats 2002-2004 and 2013-2015. We could have had 6 GF's out of the last 16.

Begs the question, would doing it have made this year bearable or unberable?

            Chook.

Add the 16-14 loss to Manly in the 1996 semis where Shane Rigon was held back after charging the ball down and would have scored.

Was at that game too, almost kicked the seat of the hinges in front of me when Mavin scored.

1984 vs Canberra at Seiffert Oval . Totally overran by Canberra with Terry Fahey just swatting players out of the way scoring 3 tries, I remember him running over the top of Mike Eden plenty of times in that game, Ron Giteau was kicking goals from everywhere that day too., score ended up 44-12.

Wont mention the 66-4 debacle in 1990 down there in Canberra because I wasn't there for that game.

Getting ripped off in the Melb semi last year on par with ref Keith Page in the 72 Gf against Manly. Ken Arthurson had Page in his pocket

I was at that Canberra game. I think it may have been 1983 though. Our players for Canberra (Giteau and Fahey) killed us.

I asked Horrie about that player exodus at the end of 82. He knew nothing about it. Said Bozo didn't tell him because he knew he was loyal to roosters. All engineered by our coach. What an asshole he was/is/forever will be.

EDIT: You are right. It was 1984:

Not only that though what about when Quinton (Ryan Cross)was in the clear only to be cut down by a penrith forward 50 meteres down field in the back play having a bludge -tried to run over him...shouldve stepped him easy.
That grand Final didnt bother me much but the Bulldogs one did ..my Mrs got hassled by some ****wit Bulldog supporter in easts leagues so I clobbered him..got thrown out then waited out side and put his other two mates on their asses...felt good at the time.

I don't remember Finch being too bad in 2003. To be honest, we played pretty good, it was just that a couple of the Panthers players played out of their skin and conditions suited them. The turning point in the game aside from Byrnes being ankle tapped happened just prior to the Luke Priddis try. We hammered their line and ran it on the last, Crocker looked certain to score but they somehow stopped him about an inch from the tryline. The next set of six, Penrith went downfield and put in an innocuous kick which Mini explicably dropped cold 15m out from our line. 4 tackles later we were chasing the game and couldn't do it in the conditions. If we had hit the front at any time in that 2nd half I firmly believe we would have won the game.

The 2010 GF cut me pretty deep.

I know we didn't deserve to win that year but i friggin' hate Saints and Bennett.

Special mention to the sight impaired touch judge.

And then followed up the year after in the semi losing to manly by a Craig field field goal.
