He is using Pearce's omission as a reason for the extent of the loss last night,I mean come on..
Pearce is no Thurston or Cronk, not sure why he is so coveted and protected by Robinson..
It's a sad state of affairs..

I didn't take that out of the press conference. To quote his first comment Robbo said

'Oh definitely you know, when you lose your halfback and your guy that guides you around the park its very difficult, but that doesn't miss tackles either'.

On the surface it doesn't seem to make sense and maybe it is dumb, but I do suspect there is more to the why that what we see.

My perception is that Maloney was really the glue that held everything together off the field especially.
You could well be right but seriously how long does it take to sort out? IF this is the case, and we use the Farah/Tigers as a yardstick, could any of our underlying problem/s be any worse?

My belief is we painted ourselves into a corner long before this season ever began. The coat-tail riders in the team were never pulled up and the coaching staff instead, made excuses for them. If Robbo as head coach, and our assistant coaches thought they could pull this sh*t up at will they were severely mistaken. And it had to be pulled up pronto having lost RTS, Jenko and Maloney from the side with the youngsters coming into those positions needing looking after. Nobody was suggesting we were ever going to be title contenders but bringing them all through at the same time with the hope of playing any amount of finals footy was an absolute must. Had we had managed that much we could have shaved a season from our build time and our premiership window re-opening. As it stands now with this season a waste, we have set that time frame back by at least a further year.

"His use of the interchange was laughable we were 6 all and in the game then he brings off Liu Taukehauo and Napa replacong them with Evans Guerra abd Moa shortly after we are 18-6 down"

I didn't watch the game so can't make comment a player effort, but maybe he did it on purpose, and the results validated/confirmed existing beliefs about what is best for the team next year.
Or, he's off his head. We'll only find out next year.

I have a feeling that Friend will be our captain again next season.

Hmmm what an interesting take A method to the madness I hope you are right Either way I think Robbo should take a nice holiday immediately at seasons end Well away from footy to refresh himself it really has been the season from hell. Hawaii Iceland or The Faroe Islands spring to mind

I've thought that he's been doing this for a while, eg he knows l Mitchell is good, and is playing a bit busted, so why flog him, just give him experience on the wing. Fergo needs the ball in hand to see if he can get back his mojo, if not, back to the wing or see you later, Hastings - he's obviously 'done his dash', Matterson - they see something, but is it real? Watson - looks the real deal already, just needs games. Manu - maybe they already rate him so just want him to bulk up a bit.
It'll be interesting to see if any forwards get a go over the last month. If Kano is busted, I'd tell him to fix his shoulder now and that way they can test a few of the young forwards again, eg Frei and the other blokes that had a run earlier this year and see if they stand up second time round. Not the garbo, nice hair but if fit, i think they already know what they can get from him. Moa, playing for a contract hasn't jumped out of the ground so he looks goneski.
I don't think Robbo will be having much of a holiday, they need some new cattle, so it's off to the abattoir for a few and off to the saleyards for Robbo and Co. Hope they've got a few TPAs lined up!

Exactly. There's disunity in this team and between the coach and some players for sure. Why's he treated Hastings so badly? He never dropped Tupou or Ferguson and they've had long rotten spells of bad form even SKD. Only Hastings dropped doesn't make sense.

If the Chooks have decided that Hastings is not part of our future then theres no point in playing him. Just sends the kid mixed messages whuch confuses everyone. I suspect Hastings has been told where he stands and it doesnt include a spot in the top 17. Id be very surprised if he doesnt move on during the offseason.

Young Watson will provide spark and versatility off the bench in 2017 once Keery arrives. And I reckon hes a better option than Hastings. Certainly quicker!

What you say makes a lot of sense, I doubt though we will see the likes of Frei (Couldn't run out of sight on a dark night) or Papalli who is stuffed after 2 hitups will get another chance. They just aren't up to it. Where has Manu played the past couple weeks? I know his defence needs a heap of work so hope he has been playing for Wyong.

Not blaming Matto either, but Pearce usually makes very good decisions in D and is a very effective tackler.
Agree totally, except for Matto,he is very average.

Correct call by coach. Season over and Hastings will be gone. May as well start preparing the younger players for next season.
