I would assume by these supposed signings that it's been decided by our Coaches that our pack does not have enough mongrel and aggression in it. The 3 of them all seem to have those traits.

I don't understand the need to sign Carter, I would say Butcher would offer as much and has a similar body size to Carter. The big difference Butcher doesn't give away stupid penalties.

Carter is very versatile which would be handy. Can play lock, second row and is a more than capable fill in at hooker.

As we've seen this year, and again with SSTs ACL, depth is crucial so at the very least he'd be valuable cover. And given his versaility I reckon he'd play at least 15 games even if he wasn't in our top 17 when fully fit.

You make a good point. Maybe they think Butcher is a year off full time FG but then again this Carter thread is only hear say from the mole.
