If the ARL/NSWRL truly wants the game to grow in the Sydney catchment area then surely they must step in and ensure our junior base continues to exist in some way, shape or form.
Agreed Gman - also Easts needs to to look at how it structures the various stages of junior league whether in partnership with Souths or not - having had kids play both in the Easts juniors and Country Rugby League Juniors and coached for many years, there are some similar challenges in both locations, which need to be addressed.
If the club is really serious about their junior base they should hold a forum of interested parties to looking at redesigning the competition at the differing levels Minis - Mods and International age groups.
i must say that my interaction with our club and one of the junior club the Clovelly Crocodiles as a parent was first class. They got so much of it right in a big way.
