ROOSTER FOR LIFE
The Roosters are set to kick off contract talks with Mitchell Pearce which will make him a Rooster for life.
Turning 28 in April next year, the halfback comes off contract at the end of 2017, along with the likes of Luke Brooks, Ben Hunt and Adam Reynolds.
Having played over 200 first grade games with the tri colours, the club don’t want him to leave and neither does Pearce.
“It’s always going to be there. You want to have some stability over the future,” Pearce said.
“I don’t want to leave the Roosters. I love the club. You just keep working hard and good things happen and we’ll work that out down the track.”

As equally interesting is that chairman Nick Politis is expected to handle negotiations unless Peter O’Sullivan is cleared to return to work.
O’Sullivan stood down from his post as recruitment officer pending an investigation into his relationship with controversial gambler Eddie Hayson.
The Roosters will begin formal talks for a new deal when Pearce returns from Papua New Guinea where he is representing Australia in the Prime Ministers XIII side.
With no manager, close friend and media guru Tristan Hay, who has been acting as a guide to the star, will assist the process.
