As long as hes on the grog there is more than an outside chance that he will stuff up.I read with horror the other week when he said that he hadn't sworn off the sauce. We don't want any repetition of this years antics from mitch but what do you do? he was good in the back half of the season and there are not many first grade halves on the market. The club is between a rock and a hard place with pearce. If it was up to me id sign him but with the stipulation that he stays off the piss he just cant handle it imo.

He was good in many of his games this year because he was fresh unlike all those that went through the season having to step up for him.

I'm pretty sure that would be put under restraint of trade. 'If you want to play for us then you can't do something legal to do it' wouldn't fly.

Hehe the cap itself can be classified as a restraint of trade and that doesn't stop the NRL.

True but didn't Gorden Tallis sit out a year for the principle?

Looking on the brightside, it could have been Jake Friend that the club was trying to sign for life.

If he was a half like Benji Marshall or Todd Carney who relied a lot on their physical attributes then I'd tend to agree with you but he'll only mature nicely going into the back end of his career.

Doesn't feel like that long ago though that he was the 17yr old weed making his debut.
