And I didn't say at all that Maloney was as good as Freddy. I said letting him go for Hastings was as stupid as it would have been to let go of Freddy for Finch. There is a world of difference, not the least of all being that as bad as finch may have been at times Hastings couldn't lace his boot straps
    Milford, Morgan, Moses, Norman, Austin.

All had as good a year as Maloney and are all younger.

Milford and Morgan are already not comparable, but ****ing Moses? Now you are just kidding yourself

By rights Maloney and Thurston should be the halves pairing for Australia, but they'll stick with Cronk given their pre-built combination from origin.

I expect Jimmy to get at least a game though during the series.... now that he isn't in the tri-colours that joke McCarthy might actually consider him

Jennings seemed to drop the ball at the end of nearly every run last season...and at other times.
Also, he seemed to want to depart us for greener pastures out west..

RTS...we could not justify paying him $800,000.

He went for the money, despite what he claims?

Imagine if Politis decided to give Fitler the boot at the end of 2001 in favour of playing the up and coming young finch at 5/8. That is literally the level of stupid that this was.
Maloney should've been the first player re-signed...for obvious reasons.

He wasn't, as it seems to me that the powers that be had eyes for SBW and Hayne.
With the Pearce incident, our season was stuffed any...don't think Maloney would've made much difference.
Never mind, 2017 looms large...so we'll just have to make another 'Maloney' of our own.

            Watson, and others look promising.

Sharks seem to do better in the refereeing stakes than we do.

So who will win the Dally M 5/8 of the year people?

Will Latrell get rookie of the year. Surely they have to give the Roosters something???

Cronulla..... Best comeback from a drug scandal

Storm.....best wrestlers AGAIN, and best Referee manipulators

                Lol oh dear.

Milford barely did anything after about rnd 12. Morgan has had a major let down season. Moses heated up big time at the end but can't defend and needs to improve there. And Austin was solid but nowhere near his form last year.

Maloney was consistent throughout the season and just led his team to a GF with one of the more dominant performances from a half in a big game you'll see. He's also done all this carrying that hack Townsend.

But keep yelling youself that the others were just as good as Jimmy!

                  100%.

No one is comparing him to Freddy. He's not half the player Freddy was, and no shame in that.

But name me a 5/8th in the game today that combines a running game, ball playing, kicking, and game management as well as Jimmy. Not to mention he's a big game player.

Of course he's no.1 based on performances this year.

                      Yeah. Taken from the Daily Telegraph online poll;

Rookie of the year: Ash Taylor
Coach of the year: Ricky Stuart
Player of the year: Josh Hodgson

5/8 of the year.......I wonder - more salt on our wounds.

Buy of the year.......I'm glad this is not a category ( I hope)

                        Yep Cleary is my pick.

Mitchell couldn't handle the pressure of playing in the spine week in week out. That alone rules him out IMO.

Hooker of the year will be interesting. It should CLEARLY be Hodgson (also my pick for Dally M, but fat ****ing chance of that) but I guarantee they give it to Smith or Ennis

Milford had a poor mid season, as did Maloney after the Sharks winning streak was over. His start and backend though had him in Dally M contention.

Morgan was very dangerous throughout the entire season, despite being marked more now after his GF efforts.

Maloney can't defend either, so you can't mark that against Moses and not Jimmy.

Austin was injured a lot but when he was on the field he was electric.

Maloney is a great player and I love him, but right now he is being elevated because rugby league fans love to base an entire career on a players last performance.

According to many on here, the main man is this team and chief reason we played well was our farken muppet of a halfback, I am so over the moon Nick and Trent felt the same way, gee things worked out well.
