  • Zane Tetevano and Liam Knight signings confirmed.

The Sydney Roosters have today announced the signings of Zane Tetevano and Liam Knight.
25-year-old Tetevano joins the Roosters from the Wyong Roos on a one-year deal for 2017.
Tetevano played in all 24 of Wyong’s matches in 2016 and was named in the 2016 Intrust Super Premiership NSW Team Of The Year.
The forward played 29 NRL matches with the Newcastle Knights between 2011-2014 and represented the Cook Islands at the 2013 Rugby League World Cup.
Meanwhile, 21-year-old Liam Knight has penned a three-year deal with the Club, having been granted a release from the final year of his agreement with the Manly Sea-Eagles.
The young forward has played 1 NRL match to date, making his NRL debut with the Sea Eagles in Round 15 of the 2016 NRL Season. He has also represented NSW in the Under 18s and Under 20s.
“Both Zane and Liam will boost the depth of our forwards heading into 2017,” said Roosters CEO John Lee.
“Significantly, they have each displayed a genuine desire to continue to apply themselves and develop within our structures both on and off the field, and we look forward to working them both,” he added.
Tetevano and Knight will officially join the Roosters when the squad begins pre-season training in November.

At the very least, you need a bit of new blood, a sign that things have changed, after an unsuccessful season.
    Good luck to them.

Im ok with these pickups...think they might bear fruit.

The fact Knighty inked a 3 shot contract means the club has a decent opinion of his potential.

Knight was a standout in the Under 20's for Manly, a big strong guy with surprisingly good footwork and a great offload. If he can stay fit and stay disciplined he will be a great pickup.

Knight is a great player done for dui, I hope these same muppets that protect and defend others for repeat offences give the bloke a go, Tetevano good player but bashing a chick senseless is something i find hard to over look, can play footy, just hope he stays trouble free

With Dylan Napa re-affirming his commitment and the official confirmation of these two signings our middles are shaping up nicely for 2017

              Props
              1. JWH
              2. Dylan Napa
              3. Isaac Liu
              4. Kane Evans
              5. Zane Tetevano
              6. Liam Knight

              Locks
              1. SST
              2. Aiden Guerra
              3. Nat Butcher
              & possibly Paul Carter

Kane Evans & Aiden Guerra definitely both on notice with two young stars currently lower in the pecking order but it won't stay that way for long if their performances don't improve. It's the type of competition for positions we needed this year but just didn't have.

With SST out for at least the first 2-3 months of the season I do think we need to sign someone like Paul Carter on a short term deal. Possibly even get Suaia Matagi back or if you dare to dream, sign someone like Paul Vaughan/Ben Matulino.

Still feel we are second rower or two short, although I know Trent Robinson is a fan of Chris Smith and thinks he will play a role in our squad this year so maybe he's pinning his hopes on him.

I wouldn't count out Matterson, Smith or Afu in the back row. I also think that Frei will improve next season.

Seems like our club has taken on a rather novel "dickheads only" policy with our recruitment these days

Amazingly Sam is off contract without a club. May be forced to retire.

Off contract. I think if he was going to be re-signed it would have happened by now.
