    Conversation A.F., and companionship.

I know I sound like a snag but I'm older and wiser and I lament lost opportunities at emotional growth.

It's a pity that there's no such thing.

                  Fitzsimmons is a buffoon.

That column he writes is unbearable.

                  A complete twat.

I've never read any of his books. But to me they look like could be one level up from that Channel 9 show where Aussies get to retrace their ANZAC family tree.

Kokoda was a great read. Tried to read Tobruk, but I've found it laborious and a rehash of Kokoda with a diiferent set of heroes.

Go over to Gallipoli or northern France and you will change your mind quickly.

sweetpea, i am not interested in pilgramage. Although i have been to "northern France" i failed to sniff anything in the air that would make anzac myth lit more than pulp fiction.

my muslim mate visits mecca and says something similar to you.....who said superstition was dead

Ignorance takes many forms and self assumed intellect is usually baseless.
You seem to have been inflicted with large cases of both. Unfortunately though you have terminal dickheadness.

You seem to miss the entire point of it all.

It's depressing and you're looking for something to ease the pain... what do you do?

I have to admit I resort to watching rugby. I was there the other night watching the Tahs THUMP the Brumbies. Gotta admit I enjoyed watching some of the plays (and watching the team I was supporting win for once.) p://www.superxv.com/video/waratahs-vs-brumbies-rd18-super-rugby-video-highlights-2011/waratahs-vs-brumbies-rd18-super-rugby-video-highlights-2011-video_ac4da7da7.html[/url]

It was a good atmosphere... kinda wish Cross was still with the Roosters because he had a blinder. TBH I think the NRL needs to reform and get the independent commission going FAST because poor management is really choking League right now. Watching a bit of rugby reminded me how much League has been slowed down by the refs... I get sick of hearing the whistle for minor fumbles (when the ball has bounced backwards anyway!) Difficult to explain why, but it felt like the ref was less involved and there were more try scoring opportunities because people were allowed to do more with loose ball.

Not saying Union's about to take over as my #1 sport, but around this time of the year when the Chooks are struggling it always becomes a lot more interesting.
I have coached both league and union, I have played league at a high level during highshcool, union is winning the battle. I love league but we need to take some of the union rules and re use them in league. 17 men, once your off your off. contested scrums. would allow the halves and playmakers to shine in the last 20 mins.........
