  • Easts teams out

Souffs have elected not to renew Easts junior teams application to play in their comp.
The Crocs, United, St Charles and Paddo are for now in limbo.

I posted about this a while back yet hoped common sense would prevail..What a disgraceful decision. Don't know the whole story but was told no Easts junior can play in the Souths comp until 2020... They really want to screw our club.

Easts best bet would be to amalgamate with North Sydney RL junior Clubs to form a Easts/Norths competion. Otherwise only thing to do is to try and start new Eastern Subs clubs up or bring some old ones back. A Randwick/Coogee club would be perfect. Hope the club had a plan B

When the South African's were excluded from world cricket because of politics (apartheid) they dangled the carrot and invited Rebel teams.

Should we give Crowe and co the bird and adopt the same approach and continue supporting our dedicated and loyal 4 clubs ? Would it/could it work?

I've no doubt Souths Juniors unsportsman like motive is to inherit our registered players. NSWRL hang your head in shame for allowing this to happen.

          Not good.
The NRL need to step in & make Anzac Parade the border between the 2 clubs. Any suburbs East of Anzac parade are Roosters juniors any suburbs west of Anzac Parade are Souths juniors.

South Sydney have tried, unfortunately at times very successfully, since day one to cripple the Eastern Suburb club and take the that area for themselves. Everyone here knows the history with them stealing our area and therefore juniors which has ridiculed our club into the assumption of a club that has no juniors. The NSWRL were in partnership with Souths then and it appears they still are.. The Roosters club need to make a big statement on this and have a plan.

                a Couple of things,
                - The NRL do not give a flying F, its not first grade so it doesn't matter. The NSWRL is very concerned and has been working behind the scenes to help.
                - The majority of people at Souths Juniors do not want this. One individual that runs the show (for now) has a blind hatred for the Roosters that transcends the importance of kids playing RL in his eyes.
                - The majority of Souths Juniors clubs are upset by this decision
                - Its still not out of the question for the Easts clubs to play in the Souths comp next year.
                - Few clubs if any were stolen by Souths. They went on their own volition. Paddington Colts being the last in the early 90s.
                - Recreuitment of Souths juniors by the Roosters is an issue.
                - Paddington Colts are a disgrace, they are the reason this has happened. Their arrogance, ignorance and plain excellence inf the field of being assholes is unsurpassed. This is sad as there are some good people working at the club.

What ever the outcome I hope the Roosters support the junior clubs as they have been and the kids get some enjoyment out of their RL

Now is the prime time for rezoning. Uncle Nick and Co need to throw some weight around in this. For the sake of the kids and junior rugby league in the east.
Realistically, there's probably buckleys of this happening though....

Yes Souths Juniors rules (which aren't all bad) they have rules that are different from the NSWRL rules.
                        They do what they want

North Sydney district spreads all the way to Hornsby/Cherrybrook/Asquith/Berowra/Dural.
Imagine the toffs in the eastern suburbs having to travel all the way out there to play footy.

NSWRL need to sort something out like combining inner city clubs into one big comp ie. St George, us, Balmain,Souffs

Can someone who knows tell us what happens now with our junior clubs?

Talking to some people involved with running the junior clubs I get the feel there is still a lot of things to play out yet.

Teams U13s and up automatically have a comp to play in which is the Sydney Combined comp , most of them play in anyway
The minis and mods are the biggest concern, there are a number of options being looked at and I think the focus will be creating an environment that has incentives for the kids to stay and play.

I would not rule out playing in the Souths Juniors comp as a mate of mine is on the committee of one of their clubs and the Souths Juniors clubs are not happy with this decision.
