Souths are a bunch of whingers and always have been. Played golf with an elderly Souths' fan today, yeah I know, but what can you do. Anyway, was chatting about the Roosters/Souths junior competition and how the Rooster teams are going to be excluded and so on. The topic changed to Nat Butcher and he said he was friends with the family. I asked him why he didn't sign with Souths and he replied, they didn't want him. Pretty simple really, if someone doesn't rate you, you have to find another club. The problem is with Souths, is that, they can't identify talent and when they leave, they whinge like stuck pigs. Fark Souths!!

Thanks for sharing this Sack.
Souffs can shove their propaganda shite where the sun don't shine because the fact is, they shamefully offered their Junior star a paltry post SG Ball contract in comparison to Coleman's son Liam.
Now look where he's ended up!!!
The Butcher's were pleasantly surprised by the genuine care & interest shown by our club. Now we've netted (or should i say "poached") his younger brother Egan who's a ball playing 5/8th or lock.
I just heard today, that this years under 14s which played in the Roosters/Souths combined competition in 2016, will now play in a Roosters/Souths/Balmain combined competition as under 15s in 2017.
However I am not sure what is happening with the other age groups.
Does anyone know?
The Sydney combined competition has run for a few years which has been basically an Easts/Souths/Balmain/St George and Canterbury teams.
This competition is from the U13s to Agrade.
Souths (and Easts) did not play the U13s, U14s or A grade in the SCC , they all played in a Souths Comp. A Grade has never played in the SCC.
The SCC has changed slightly so that its Easts/Souths/Balmain and St George in once conference and Canterbury and Wests in another.
Who knows (or cares) what Souths Juniors will be doing. All the Roosters teams from U13s and up will be playing in the SCC

That must be a concern for the NRL/ARL or NSWRL that 5 junior area have to play in a combined comp & that would make them all local juniors for all 5 NRL clubs wouldnt it?

Absolutely not. The teams are still very much Roosters teams, Bulldogs teams etc. What it does do is gives competitions with good numbers of teams and multiple divisions

the roosters have an unofficial association with the 42 other junior and senior Roosters clubs throughout Australia. the Brand is being backed unfinancially by the club but are there in support

I feel old. When i played at the Crocs in the early 80's we used to play ,Paddo Colts, Marcellin, Woolloomo Warriors, St Charles, Bondi United. I have the best memories training at Burrows Park with Steve Yeats as my coach, helped out by Stringy. Living in the Blue Mountains now it's a distant memory
And according to the NSWRL - Phase 2 - In 2018 Roosters and Balmain will join the Northern Conference with Manly and North Sydney and Cronulla will join the Southern Conference. (Souths/St George)
