Danny Buderus definitely captained the blues while Andrew Johns was captain of Newcastle.

I think injury played a part though from memory

I think Cordner would make a great Captain. Couldnt trust JWH to keep his cool.

I think that they should have separate club and on-field captains.

Aubbo should be club captain. Presents himself very well when interviewed.

On-field I suppose Cordner would be the pick but I don't really know.

Problem with Cordner is that he is out injured more often than not.

If you exclude this year, since he secured a spot in First Grade back in 2012 he has played in 91 games out of a possible 103.

I've seen a lot of people question Cordner's durability lately but I think it's understated given the style of game he plays, he had a bad run of luck this year but that's always going to happen at some point in your career. Certainly shouldn't discount him from captaincy.

Not that I think Jake Friend will be dropped as captain.

Ruffle feathers... has to be Manly. Jamie Lyon's been dropped due to retirement and the Sea Eagles will have a new captain in 2017.

Think you'll find it's James Graham @ the Dogs that's about to be stripped of the C

I think everyone on here agrees that Friend should not be captain but I don't think they will strip the captaincy from him.

Joint captain with Cordner seems like the only solution.

Easy, and as they say, peasy.
                        Indeed.
                        Amen.

No degree from Harvard needed for this one either.

My only real thoughts on it are that Robbo isnt an idiot nor is he afraid to make a tough call so if Jake Friend wasn't a good captain then he wouldn't be in the role.

What we get fed from the media and the small snippets we see of them pales in comparrison to what Robinson and the other key decision makers who in all likeliehood spend more time with the players than their families see.

So whilst I'm not suggesting comment and opinion is unwelcome stating the only solution to our captaincy next year is to co-appoint Boyd Cordner because no one on the Chookpen thinks Jake Friend is up to it is a bit of a laugh.

I remember when Pearce and Friend first were selected as captain. Robbo said in an interview that he sent a vote around the club to see who they would thought should be it.

Apparently Friend was the overwhelming response, so I doubt everyone in the club had a change of heart over the year.
