If we were to sign Bird I'd play him in the back row on the right edge. He could be a straight replacement for Guerra who really has to stand up this season. With Cordner hitting holes on the left and SST in the middle, adding Bird to the right would leave us with the most dynamic and skilful backrow in the game

Its not as if Tupou has been setting the world on fire with his form over the last 12 months. Maybe Robbo is thinking of shaking things up a bit after a terrible year. Im no fan of Tupou. We shall see.

Conor Watson was a fullback in the juniors, I actually suggested this at the end of last year.

Watson's preferred position is 5/8 and Robbo quoted this fact last season in a press conference. I recall one game when Watson was shifted to fullback during a match.

Whatever backline is chosen for round one ain't necessarily the same one we'll have by round 4 or 5 .
I'd be surprised if Toops ain't chosen to start the season, but I'd rather have Manu in there.
