    Chook.
To whom it may concern: Please let the Coach do just that without interference.

Which is totally unacceptable for a bloke with 20+ years experience in first grade coaching. (no matter how tied his hands may or may not be by Politis and co)

Smith was clever in getting himself a 4 year deal. He knows how Nicky P works. No wonder they had to beg for donations for a gym - all the money's going to paying the wages of former coaches

When we start with a game plan, and stick to it, we look good. When something goes wrong, we shift from the game plan and lose our bundle.

That is when the captain needs to steady the ship.........this is not happening. I beleive the players are happy to play in a team coached by smith........i feel they have lost confidence in the captain.

If this is true it still falls under Smith's job, he appoints the captain.

For me it's far more than a confidence issue, we smell rotten again

If anyone thinks Brian Smith is in control then they are more delusional than is possible for trained psychiatrists to repair.

                    Yep.

It seems that a head coach should be better at choosing his staff?

If only the Roosters could channel Big Jack, ala 1967.
Jack Gibson began his first-grade NSWRL coaching career at Eastern Suburbs in 1967. In 1966 the club had not won a match, but Gibson took them to the semi-finals that first year. Gibson's tactics of having a mobile, hard-working forward pack combined with a fast-moving defensive line that stifled their opposition saw Easts build the best defensive record in the competition. In 1968 the team finished with a defensive record second only to eventual premiers South Sydney and again made the semi-finals, then were knocked out in week one by St. George.

                      Re Smith
If Jack can do it in his first gig, what is wrong with Smith after 20 years..
He seems to fall down after a year with the clubs he is at.

Add to that the High performance guy that Smith worked with at Newcastle...

They are not fit enough. How many times have they looked good or competed for the first 30 & then fallen apart? There is very little support play. There is no line speed for long stretches. Lazy defenders.

Exactly why he's never won a premiership Kramer, he just doesn't have "it."

He's a solid first grade coach who takes teams on streaks when his confidence is high, when he's off his game his teams fall to pieces in a blink.

Smith will see out his contract if for no other reason than there are no good coaches on the market and the club has no farking clue what else to do. We can't appoint any of his assistants. Maybe the "High Performance Unit" will be the holy grail. /SARCASM

The problem is discipline. It's obvious that Smith is not getting it. Yes its the players but I don't see sacking the whole team is possible. Smith is the obvious choice.

I'm completely over this season as I sat there watching yesterday without one sceric of emotion or passion, which was fitting given how our team played.

If Brian Smith is not given carte blanche to tear this team apart and start fresh for next year now that this one is well and truly over, this is one member who WILL NOT be renewing his family package membership.

                                Chook.
He got rid of Ronny Palmer
