  • Sydney Heads

Just saw another replay of the Knights second try.

    That was a disgrace.

They opened up like Sydney Heads.

Even in our dark days of 1990 we didn't let in tries like that.

This team has internationals and a stack of other representative players.

I think we need to get the spoon again so things change.

It looked like an under 8s side trying to get back in the defensive line sometimes. A few were rushing back while others were struggling to motivate themselves to get out of 1st gear. FPN was the biggest offender. God he pissed me off yesterday.

Mark Murrays Roosters were the worst I have seen first hand, were they worse in an earlier generation?

The teams we had in eras gone by were full of battlers.
We used to get frustrated by Horries inexcusable exclusion from rep sides.
                      We had fark all quality.

That try was all down to a lazy Frank-Paul.

Barring maybe Jake Friend and a couple of the new kids, I'd take this side over our current one.

                              We're becoming like this again.

One of the darkest eras for the Roosters since the 1950's and 60's, the Roosters would show little signs of success throughout this period. Bestowed the nickname the 'Transit Lounge' due to the clubs persistence to purchase established players often past their peak at an incredible rate. Lasting between more than a decade from 1983 to 1994, the Roosters were only capable of making the finals once during 1987 under the inspirational leadership of Hugh McGahan in which they were defeated by the Canberra Raiders in the preliminary final. The week before Easts lost 10-6 to Manly in an epic, bruising and controversial semi-final. It took the stuffing out of the Roosters the following week. McGahan due to his performances for Easts and New Zealand would win the Golden Boot Award.

The difference being that our current captain isn't worthy of wiping the mud from Hugh McGahan's boots.
