This is no disrespect to Andrew Walker but it just go's to show you how soft that game is when you are looking at 43 year olds to play in your team.

He was one of the most electrifying talents to ever wear RWB. In his prime he was close to 1974 vintage Fairfax.

Mickie lane you just have no idea how hard union really can be! freddy played inb our 9 side 2 seasons back and successful i might add bit he couldn't survive the weekly grind! iff walker was picked up ot would be as a reserve back basis surely coming on when required? im sure hed be very welcomed on our golden oldies team too. mickie 10s rugby is a lot harder than league 9s playing longer with bigger hits.

Nah I dont agree with that stephenj & I dont know what Freddy playing in the 9's has anything to do with it.
I went to a private school in Strathfield where Union was played so I played Union for 7 years even made the 1st in year 12 at fly half & I also played junior Leaguen at the same time for Burwood United as a half back for 13 years & I can tell you the games of League were always played with more aggression & the only injuries I ever got were playing League because you had to take a hit in League not like in Union where you could just kick the ball out on the full.

              So you're a St Pat's boy!!!! Interesting...

              > Wallabies legend George Smith is making a Super Rugby comeback this year at 36 years old while cross-code convert Brad Thorn played in the National Rugby Championship last year as a 41-year-old.

Do these comebacks more reflect the current calibur of Australian players? IMO Smith had a good year or two, then put on weight and was better suited to the Galloping Greens.

Walker... no disrespect, but would you want him as a leader? He didn't play a lot of games for Australia (admittedly due to reasons beyond his control) but I feel he's more of a crazy, ad-hoc player.

Given his past with drugs and alcohol I'm really to happy fo see he's got his life on track and (seemingly) his liver's held up. The guy must be sooo driven to be anywhere near match fit at his age. Maybe he is a leader now, having fought off all his demons? He's got great vision... my guess is they'd use him more as a coach/emergency sub if he signed? Be good to see him earn some of that coon back (was he left with much for retirement?)

Sure is. Makes a lot of sense actually!

Good luck to AW if he can pull it off. Gotta love an ex Rooster succeeding.
