  • Yesterday's trial games - Wyong Roos

The team we put on the park had many of our players missing and even though they played well could not match it with a full strength Sea Eagles side. Still to come into this side are players like Joseph Manu, Nat Butcher, Bernard Lewis, Grant Garvey, Mitch Cornish, Poasa Faamausilli, Brendan Frei, Dale Copley, Jayden Nikorima, Chris Smith and a few others including hopefully, Guerra when Cordner and Siosiua Taukeiaho return from injury.

Guerra would need to play better than last season to keep in the Wyong run on side this year lol. Our forward depth, especially in the backrow is very good.

To get value out of Guerra, he'd need a bus licence to drive the team up to Wyong on game day

Just a few words on another trial game which is the Charity Shield which I just finished watching.
Nene McDonald could easily move into the front row. He is one big unit & he is bloody fast.
Tanne Milne, geez I rate this bloke. He has so much aggression in him & if he becomes available & the Chooks need a centre he would be the guy I would go for.
Paul Vaughan, fark I wish the Roosters had got him, Canberra will regret not keeping him.
Angus Crichton the one that should be at the Roosters, he is an ex Scots College boy in Bellevue Hill who was enticed to Souths by Crowe who sons also go to Scots, College. mate what a top edge player he is. Big, strong, mobile with speed who will definitely play rep footy.
And the Robbie Farah, Damien Cook combo is lethal. The trust & roll on those 2 get is unbelievable. Those 2 interchanging is going to be hard for opposition teams to contain.

So IMO the Roosters would be better suited having Watson not Carter interchanging with Friend to provide that sharpness & thrust out of dummy half.
And this year is going to be the tightest competition on record.

One last thing the Gold Coast copped some injuries out of there game with the Warriors. Peats & there second choice hooker Pat Politoni plus Ryan Simpkins, Tyler Cornish Morgan Boyle & Kevin Proctor didnt play because he is also injured.
