I'm a fan of this appointment.

Elliot is very personable and Smith has always had good tactical nouse. Could work like Stuart and Cartwright. We just need our Dean Pay now.

I never knew that Elliot was an Easts junior !!!!!!

I am a bit flabergasted at this desicion, but he was with smith at the dragons, which would be around the 92/93 period, as well as assisting him in the uk, winning a title over there....

Could this be the mix we need??? Is Elliot the ying to Smith's Yang ????

Would this have anything to do with the development of Todd Carney?

And the pursuit of Josh Dugan?

Im sure Elliot is close with both those guys, could be a factor!

"Elliott will officially commence his role at the Roosters when the squad begins pre-season training for 2012 this November"

                  I thought 2012 pre-season had already started

Although he hasn't been the most successful coach he's got lots of experience which is something i think can only help the younger players at the club. He wouldn't have been my first choice for asst. coach but if it means the likes of Costin leaving i'm all for it.

I also reckon your spot on with the Carney statement, it's widely known that Todd and Elliot share a close bond together and i think that it can only assist him in getting his life, and form on the pitch back on track.

                          Its good someone's listening.

Forget the fact that he was shafted at Canberra (with a crap side) and Penrith with a crap side).

                          He's an Easts man.

Thats the money shot right there. Now lets see what happens to him at Easts.....with a crap side.

Don't rate him as an NRL coach so probably won't rate him as an assistant coach.

I hope this is the catalyst that gets Toddy's head right from now on.
Surely Elliot will have close contact with him prior to November now that he is more or less in our camp.
