I'll take a very rare Round 1 win, no matter how it comes. We don't get many!
And yes, the second half was extremely frustrating but the fact is there was no way the Titans were going to play as badly in the second half as they did in the first. So it was always going to be a more even contest, and their blokes had a point to prove to their coach and fans.
Kudos to Keery and Pearce for gelling so well, and to Latrell for his hat trick.
Yes there were some negatives, but there are many reasons to be positive about this season.
It will be interesting to see how we go against the Dogs this week - they didn't show all that much on Friday night, espec not in attack.
Supporting the RW&B, through good times and bad times.
Plenty of positives, plus beating a finals fancy at home of who we don't have a great record against is good.
We have lost 3 out of last 4 Round 1 matches so I will take the points any which way.
Watson should have probably been sent out once we were 22-0 up to give Friend a rest but I think Robbo thought the dominance would continue in the second half and he could have thrown him on with about 20 to go with the match all wrapped up. The second half became pear shaped and Robbo didnt want to risk it.
Spot on man...

Agree Novice, it is a long season and the first half of the season teams form will wildly flutcuate but every 2 points for the bank is a good thing.
Trent likes to build his sides up over the season so I think there are good signs and things the dudes in the team can work on.

The intensity we brought to that first half was incredible, and gassed us for the second. We will be building match fitness no doubt, but does everyone think we can play at that tempo (or try to) for another 23 rounds?

nah mate, the comp is so long we will have some bad days and it is a matter of putting ourselves in a good position by the end of the origin series to make a run there. If you noticed since 2012, Melbourne in 2012 lost I think 5 in a row even late in the season and went on to win the comp. We hit a flat spot late in the season just pipping Canberra and then losing to the Sharks and Titans then lifted to go on to win the comp in 13, Cows also went a bit flat in late 15 and Sharks went flat for a while before they flogged us last season and went on to win it. So I would imagine there will be a few times even if we do go on and win the bloody thing in where we wont go out with the intensity of that first half last Saturday night.

We played the sharks back into form at the backend of last year. They were on the slide before that game and we gave them the confidence to go on and win it. Damn I still hate that game. We could have totally wrecked any remaining self confidence after that game but instead it ended up quite the opposite.
