Thank you souffs for Luke Keary.

As much I still reckon Jimmy Maloney was our biggest loss of the past few seasons, I think we will all be Saying Jimmy who in the next few months. Hope Luke keeps up his form from Sat night. We look sharp with him in the side.

I hope you haven't just given him the kiss of death. Sounds eerily similar to some comments made about Nikorima at the start of last season.

Not that I'm comparing him to the disaster that was Nikorima.....but you know, maybe wait a few weeks before getting too excited

Ill thank souths for that to, another thing to remember keary is ummmm 24 or so maloney is 30 odd, but lets not get ahead of ourselves, but gee id love to add tedesco to our team next year, even though i feel gordon added an element of stability that we lacked from the back last year, excellent start despite the second half , i think a big difference this year is people know their position unlike 16 when we had rookie halves, a centre at fb god we should have seen it coming

cant compare Jimmy who won a premiership with us (and imo was our best player on that night) to Keary who has played 1 great half against a sub par team...

to be fair Keary is a proven first grade player with big game experience can't compare him to that dud Nikorima far too early to say thank you to Souths but he will at least do better than Hastings

They are both very different players.

I wasn't comparing guys. I'm just excited by the look of the future and rubbing a bit more salt into open wounds of souffs.

I'm not in any way trashing Jimmy. I've got nothing but respect for the guy and am thankful we had him for 3 seasons but he's gone and I like what I see in filling the void he left behind.

Keary and Pearce are a match made in heaven. Two excellent defenders who compliment each other perfectly in attack.

If they play 20+ games together then we'll go a long long way.

Happy with the early signs. BUT i still don't like that either of our halves have an accurate short kicking game, this could still be our Achilles heal

I touched on that during the game when the halves stopped running and started short kicking. Then Keary actually got that repeat set and we scored later. Hopefully using some vision and paitience it will improve over the season

I think you guys are right. Obviously with more game time they will gel better. It just looks like a good fit so far and should only get better from here. I don't think it will be the best combo in the comp but it has some good signs towards being a very good one.

The kid was exhausted after 30 minutes of play, he ran his backside off in that game. To tell you the truth I don't think there are many halves in the game today who can play both sides of the field as he did it superbly, plus he scored twice on either side.

I think he will make the Dogs forwards look very stupid this Thursday night as he and Watson will be the key with the victory.

Our short kicking game is poor.. I think we shouldn't be afraid to just put the ball up in the air pretty much every time and let our tall jumpers play havoc.

On the one hand we have a poor kicking game, on the other we have the tallest outside backs in the comp. We should play to our strength.

He is a running half just what we need. 1st round plenty to build on and plenty of improvement .Starting fowards are tops ,The let down is the next two are not as effective ...hence collapses . Napa needs to put more effort in Liu and Evans must harden up ..toughen up and lift their work rate up .
