7th Tackle: Roosters' concern for Ferguson

Josh Massoud and Liam Cox - 7Sport on March 23, 2017, 7:00 am

Blake Ferguson’s redemption at Bondi is no doubt a feel good story – but the hard work and sacrifices must continue for him to be guaranteed a happy ending.

Our sources in the Eastern Suburbs have reported some concerns among Roosters officials over Ferguson’s recent lifestyle choices – chiefly among them gambling.

His current issues aren’t at the same level of seriousness as those that saw him sit-out 2014 – and the Roosters are doing all they can to ensure things never reach that point again.

Although the father-of-two has been well behaved since joining the Roosters, another slip-up would prove disastrous to his career prospects at NRL Central.

The club has invested extraordinary time and resources into Ferguson’s off-field recovery – and even sent him to the US for specialist treatment on a foot injury in 2015.

Ferguson is also off contract at present, making this a delicate time to be talking.

We expect the Roosters to standby their man and extend his stay another two years. But Ferguson needs to toe the line.

At his best, Ferguson is one of the one of the game’s most potent match-winner – as demonstrated by his effort to win last year’s Harry Sunderland Medal as Australia’s best player on the Four Nations Tour.

If Josh Massoud is ever fired from the Telerag, he can replace Sean Spicer as he's almost as big a bullshit artist. Nice attempt to cause trouble Massoud the Murdoch stooge. Has his boss, the Dirty Digger, sanctioned the hacking of any murdered teenage girls phones lately?

All the money in the world and Murdoch is still a low-rent street hustler. A spiv, a wide boy, and a hawker.

Only difference between someone like Christopher Skase and Murdoch is that he was able to influence a litany of morally suspect politicians in England and the U.S. because he had dirt on them.

What shytes me big time, is that these so called 'journos' and 'news rags' can get away with naming names. We saw it recently with the Carter article.

According to Cockadoodledoo if the media names someone it has to be true

And according to Rothfield if there is a hint of player misbehaviour, including a player & his gf having an abortion, and it makes front page news, then it MUST be investigated by the NRL. In other words, according to Buzz, the editor of the Daily Telegraph decides what is and what isn't investigated.

The media's level of self importance really does sicken me. As does their influence on the level of punishment handed out by the NRL/judiciary , for ex Mitchell Pearce

Josh Massoud a dispicable low life scum - yep the same Josh Massoud who broke the news regarding the Pearce Australia Day shennighans. I look forward to seeing Trent being asked questions in pressers etc by the low life as Trent is so dismissive to the point it's funny.

They wouldn't have self importance if the fans didn't lap it up. 99% of people on here crucified Pearce last year but now use it as an example of shoddy media practices and breaches of moral code

                              This.

By talking about it, you are being part of the problem. It's just clickbait.
