    Come down.

The kid is 19 or 20.

Undersized (he'd be lucky to weigh 80 with a wet gurnsey).

Still has years to go before he matures.

It was far from a perfect debut but considering the context of the season, it's quite understandable.

He has the skills, but for god's sake, can we nurture a youngster instead of throwing them away at any sign of weakness.

In my opinion, his mistakes today were a direct result of being physically unsuited for grade. Although i question how many fullbacks could stop rampaging backrowers that close to the line.

      Anyone who is fast.

I was gutted that Pritchard got injured because i was impressed with him on debut.

I agree. Too many people too quick to criticise the kid on 1 average performance in a team that was rubbish. The last kid we did that to plays origin now apparently and also has a premiership. What did they call him.....that's right a speed hump!!

          2nd grader at best.
Luke Towers mark 2 looked out of his depth at fullback. But he is quick. Probably more suitable in the halves or wing.

Rhys Pritchard is more comfortable at fullback. Looked ok before getting injured.

I'm a massive fan of Wells, I really hope we don't go out and buy a fullback unless it's a really good one like Dugan.

I don't K-bomb was that terrible. He's a rookie, who was surrounded by 30+ game veterans who played worse than he did.

No the problem here is everyone hyping up these kids. Newtown isnt First Grade. Under 20s insnt first grade. The way some pork chops carry on about the "talent" there is embarrassing. We have nothing of the sort - talent that is. This kid proved it.

He was always going to struggle. He is our 3rd choice fullback and was playing a team
that had 5 players having played less than 10 1st grade games and further 3 players
having played less than 20 games. Too many rookies in the team and the coach had no choice but to play them.

And thats the problem with the set up at the moment. under 20's are treated as superstars and as the step before NRL, if they don't make it into first grade by 20, they are thrown into a 2nd rate eserve grade comp known as the NSW cup, then when called up to first grade are under done and under prepared !!!

Under 20's should only be considered as a development league, NSW cup should be used as a PROPER Reserve grade !

You have to feel for the kid. He looked very tentative at the start letting kicks bounce multiple times before picking them up. But after his knock on seemed to gain some confidence. Didn't drop a bomb all night, and chased down Ferguson with ease. Let's not forget he's not the first rookie to have a shocker on debut. Just this year Fisiiahi from the Warriors was abysmal at the back on debut....weeks later he looked like he'd be NZ fullback for the next 10 years. Josh Hoffman looked scared out of his wits early on at fullback and now he's a player we've spoken about buying. Just saying, the kid looked like a young bloke on debut that was surrounded by other blokes that were showing less than he was.

he looked ok. very hard for him to come in to a dud team and shine when the regular first graders are dreadful. last man standing tackle was woeful but didnt drop a bomb and good speed to catch ferguson. does anyone know if ford got a run last night i dont remember him being on the field at all but then again a did switch off with 15 to go.
a rookie i thought has been going alright the last few weeks is takarangi. has been hitting hard in defence and last night made a couple of good hitups and offloads. he and cordner seem to be the only rookies that didnt look too overawed when coming into fg.

Takairangi had a taste last season. People were calling for his head then. He has shown improvement. I just don;t understand why he got taken off so early. He looked pretty fresh. The 2nd row rotation was mind boggling yesterday.

                              Coq,

Smith brought on Ford in the 67th min. Only reason i remember is because i was shaking my head at Smith's decision to bring him on so late despite being beaten by 20 points. Go figure!!!!!!

Well R6, you're going to be massively disappointed to learn that Henare Wells is Titans bound in 2012.
No surprises because he's a Keebra Park junior but regrettably would have been good to keep him under contract for another year
because he still qualifies for NYC in 2012.

Smells a bit like Blake Ayshford, Antonio Winterstein, James Tamou, David Hala etc who are now regular first graders elsewhere.
