Plenty of NRL players much older than Latrell have taken weeks off fully paid to deal with various issues. It's called player welfare and clubs tend to take it seriously these days.
Age has nothing to do with it. Either you're an nrl player or not. Clubs will persist with people with mental health problems if they have the talent to make it worth their while. It's always at the advantage of the club. No one is forcing these guys to play nrl. If they can't hack it they can always go back to the bush to play with their mates. This comment is nothing to do with latrell specifically.

From the Lurker so not sure how accurate this is ...

So Latrell Mitchell was “rested" by the Roosters this weekend?
      Don’t you believe it!
My Roosters spies tell me Mitchell was dropped by the club for disciplinary reasons after a heated disagreement with coach Trent Robinson in Brisbane last weekend.
Mitchell was “hooked” by Robinson late in the heavy loss to the Broncos and was none too pleased about it.
The talented young centre had words with Robinson in front of the entire playing group in the emotion-charged moments after the big defeat.
Interestingly, I’m hearing the decision to “rest” Mitchell came not so much from Robinson but from the Roosters’ senior playing group.
They decided Mitchell needed to be taught a lesson in respect - and that’s why he’ll be missing from this Friday night’s clash with the Knights.

Spot on mate. And I reckon that's a huge difference to the coach. We can bag SKDs brainfades all we want, But you can never criticise his effort. He gives 100%, which is why he has never been dragged. But Latrell was not putting in.

Ffs. Probably the first time this joker is right.

Yes nobody can deny the efforts of SKD. This is the only reason I don't get on here and bag the bloke (too much!).

It's why players like Braith, perrett an co wouldn't get dropped either, problem with that is it doesn't help the team much to win games, it's like playing the loyalty card too long.

Not sure how the theory works for fergo then, he seems disinterested as anybody a lot of the times on the field, yet no repercussions for him.

Anyway you can't drop everyone who seems lazy or uninterested or we would be playing with about half a team.

I'll be interested to see if on Friday we look as hungry as the opposition, too many of them collectively haven't seemed that arsed. Knights arguably have that must-win (albeit, don't, lol) attitude.

Better for this to happen sooner than later, latrell has to put some runs on the board to justify the ego

When you consider how he had his whole world turned upside down in a very public way by someone he had once loved very much (and also losing contact with a child he and his family took care of as their own) I have nothing but admiration for Shaun for continuing to put in the efforts he does. Some of those on here must not know what it's like to have your heart broken or suffer from any sort of loss or depressive episode, let alone in the public eye. They also must be absolutely perfect at their jobs each and every day as well. I for one am grateful for everything Shaun has done for the Roosters and the way he has picked himself up after having his life ripped apart like it has been. I often go past the spot where he was found alone in his car and I get the shivers at what might have been. Like someone else on here wisely pointed out the other day, his blunders are not from lack of effort. They usually are from caring and trying too much or the unsupportive actions of those around him.

That's all true. We love SKD.

But we can't afford to carry his mistakes anymore.

SKD has been like this most of his career. No one is having a knock at the man himself. He seems like a reasonable bloke. But in the cut throat world of professional sport, he just makes too many crucial errors.

Go have a look closely at the Manly game highlights and the final heartbreaking Walker try.
Mitchell doesn't even chase , it's really bad to watch.

                          I am really disappointed

So what happens to Latrell now? No doubt we went a lot better without his bad attitude even allowing for the lower quality opposition.

I imagine he'll probably be back for the dragons but not sure if that's the right move

Latrell is a first grader. He will be in the side. Fergo can have a rest for manu though.
