Quite seriously, is there anything the club can do to stop what's happening ??

Forget Archer, he's part of it. The reason being, if we don't stop this shit, we really won't have any chance of winning the tight ones. For example, in that Newcastle game we obviously should have received more than 1 penalty. But Robbo jokes about it at the presser. Is that it, a joke. What if Newcastle had won? what then?

Can't we do anything at the CEO level? I guess this is a catch 22 - the more we try to mount a case against these clowns, the more we are gonna get fisted. Plus I'm sure we've attempted the CEO level approach before and it hasn't helped us one bit.

We are not playing our best footy, that's obvious, so we need a fair go from the refs.

My point is that we need showmanship rather than factual analysis. Our games (for example) need more fans turning up (or a smaller stadium), an MC constantly changing the music/tempo as we play and some emotional presentations before the game where we sell the struggles faced by our players.

Souffs did an okay job of selling an 'victim' story by selling the fact they'd been booted by the comp and the 'fact' they are partial to the indigenous community. We need a story like that being told so that people feel for us.

PG...its been happening to us for a very long time. Doesn't make it right for sure.

Bottom line is most others who don't support us...esp in high places...dont like us at all. You can hear it in the media and see it in the officialdom.

They set the bar higher and we have to be that much better to achieve success...sonetimes we are most times we aren't.

What can we do? Stuffed if I know.

Maybe a siege mentality to embrace the hate.

Subtle mention doesn't make any difference now.
          We just get ignored/laughed at.

Major action has to be taken...or we're doomed forevermore.

No 1 radio host named a major soft drink company's Board members on the radio when it wouldn't 'do the right think by' [in his opinion and the opinion of many] shot in the face owner/driver.
The final way the war was concluded in favour of the owner/driver.

"Refs with agendas" should be investigated.

Yeah, I reckon we need to make use of the press, or a radio/TV personality that actually likes us.

I swear I must be an idiot, and it feels like I've been dreaming. I had no idea that we were so disliked by the upper echelon and major power brokers.

Johnny Tobin you are a 100% correct about the bias being in the NRL's DNA - i believe the basis of it is a socio demographic hang up with the eastern suburbs and the catalyst to vent it is against a wealthy successful club headed by a wealthy owner.
The game was founded in working class roots and the administration panders to the less than mentality that are riddled with envy.
The club never projects itself being above others yet with the media partnership and tabloid commentaries they fuel the dislike to the sheep.
Its rather bizarre as there is a salary cap to level the playing field yet with the NRL refs the bias counters it. Gaming the icing on the cake.
There is no doubt in my mind that refs collude and then openly unlock their subconscious thinking to warrant the envy so they can carry out their agenda week after week as seen recently and historically. They have grown up hating anything eastern suburbs so if there is a brief from higher up then they are only too happy to engineer a bias.
The teams over the years have been labelled mentally weak - I have been guilty of this thought however it is no wonder if there is a mental frailty when players know week after week of the bias. The classic Aussie term " Fair Go " doesn't apply to the club.
The club have their hands tied so perhaps its up to the fans to out the NRL/Media/ Sportsbet partnership of bias.

                  16. Dragons 5.0 35

I can't find the stats for the penalty awarded, but 3 of the top four teams on the ladder are in the top part of penalties conceded, dragons have given away the least.

Expect a 10-3 penalty count on Tuesday.

I understand your point, but if this is a sport where winning is the result of how well the club orchestrates its PR and how well the fans can intimidate the officials, it's a pretty sad situation.

                      It is.

But I think if we had a packed stadium every week it would make no difference. It's in the ref's DNA passed from one generation of refs to the next. Archer is the common denominator.

Yeah I agree. We are a laughing stock with all the 'Footy Shows' regarding our home crowds. We will be outnumbered again by those inbred Merge fans an Anzac Day. So you can put your money on 3 to 4 crowd penalties at least being awarded to the Dragons.

On that note, what are your theories out there on why we just cant pull a decent home crowd in. I understand that like myself Many have had to move way West to afford housing. BUT, is it just a reflection of what's considered our 'boundaries'. I.e., basically just less fans ?????

Manly had 10,000 at home v Melbourne and the commentators said what a great crowd, brookvale looks packed with that size crowd, we get 12-14,000 and it looks like 4000, and the opposition fans come thru louder on the Tv too.

It's bad when even fletch keeps on bagging our crowd and saying there is no atmosphere.

Yeah, it's friggin frustrating when Fletch does that, and of course it is now a running joke for the show.

Fletch would murder his mother on the stage if he thought he would get a laugh out of it. No credibility at all. Nobody takes him seriously.

Type in NRL penalty stats then scroll down to where it says Rugby League tables - AFL tables. Gives you the tables since about 1980 for against avge differential etc are all there layed out. We are avge 4.25 received so far this year. You can marvel at the massive differentials in 13,14. Last year was our first positive differential since 2004. Prior to 2005 things were OK, it's like they really started targeting us from then.
