Lets face it besides a fluke year last year and one half decent run under the emotion of Freddy our club has been rotting since the glory days of the early 2000's. We have become the new Souths of the comp, the laughing stock with constant off field problems. Our club needs a complete change in culture and should be implementing a plan to do this over the next 3-5 years. Forget buying short term premierships the focus should be on building a culture that will sustain the club over many years and put them in a position to challenge consistently for the title. Great examples of this are the Broncos, Storm heck even here at the Dolphins where the culture is such that new players that come in seem to fit straight in and play well because they are influenced by the whole culture of the place.
I mean who would want to come play for us other than to pick up an easy pay deal. We have to create a place where players desire to come and play. Where they would take less money to come and play.
The whole place needs a restructure and a fresh approach. Maybe the problem is with Nick and his influence but it is hard to simply dismiss what he has done for our club. Certainly we need a coach with fresh ideas who we can see long term at the helm and who we can build this culture around (still angry we didn't get McGuire).
I want this club to be one I can be proud of both on and off the field. Just not happening at the moment.
