I have been bleeding red, white and blue since the 1970's.
I have never been more down about our club than I am now.
Not even in our wooden spoon year.
The reason is that I seriously expected to win the comp this season.
And why wouldn't I?
I had just seen the best Roosters attack I had ever seen.
There was a full off-season to gel even more.
The confidence was sky high.
And now what have we got?
We have not scored more than 12 points since Round 12.
The best attack I have seen has become the worst.
In defence last night I saw some of the softest tries I have ever seen us give up.
They went to a camp during the week and all signs are positive. They are looking forward to getting into the other team. And our captain kicks out on the full - for the umpteenth time. They score in the next set a pathetically soft try and my great first tryscorer investment (Linnett at $21) goes out the window.
Whilst we have had plenty, it is just too easy to blame injuries.
The sides we have put on the park in the last month should have won all those games.
For the first time ever I don't want to go and watch them play.
I am feeling old.
I am feeling tired.
I have had enough.
I think it's time for me to retire.
And don't give me any of that "real supporters stick through thick and thin" garbage. I have paid my dues and am entitled to getting a dressing gown on and putting my feet up in front of a nice log fire.
