As shithouse as Guerra was last year, he has really put in a far greater effort this year. Did I hear you say "contract anyone?" Too little too late surely.

While players play their assigned tasks in a team sport the team is successful.
Check who the original mark was , who was beaten and the angle of the run.
Defence wins big games his 47 made some contribution.

Plenty of strong hits too. This thing some of you go on about him just being an arm grabber and flopper is just a chookpen myth.
Because you are right if you go back and look at all the little 1% extras like kick chase, pressure on the kicker, effort in first up contact, scramble defence etc. he literally lead the way for our team.
But that moment of motivation isn't intrinsic, it's not going to drive him for the rest of the season and it doesn't make up for all that's come before it.

But as usual people only notice the highlight reel plays and assume that's the whole story.

He did a mountain of work beforehand including 4 tackles in the set before the try that ended in the drop out then a couple more in the same set as the try. He missed that tackle because he was exhausted from all the work he'd been doing.

What did you think of the lines he offered tonight for his halves?

Nathan Hindmarsh was a "workhorse" too.
There's a reason why opposition coaches run their strongest at these type all game, they know they will make metres after contact and they know they'll win the ruck.
The one thing Guerra does well is kick pressure, the rest of his game is reserve grade standard, has been for 2 seasons.

I didn't know he was offering lines to the halves. I thought they'd put a stop to that sort of thing after Australia Day

Yes, Guerra went pretty well.
Friend killed our momentum when he fumbled the ball when trying to pick it up at dummy half.
Carter killed our momentum at a very very vital time of the match...dumb forward pass from dummy half.
Evans killed our momentum by losing the ball in a tackle, as he does far too often.
JWH killed our momentum by giving away penalties.
Another dumb offload by Toops at the end of a run, maybe it was the last tackle.
Momentum killers everywhere.
As luck would have it...the Dragons kicked out on the full from a line drop out. :-)Last edited by bondi-boy; 04-26-2017, 10:42 AM.
