    Since 1908 ....

I boarded in 1980 ... It wasnt because of geography as I grew up in tiger territory ... Dad used to take me to bulldogs game ... because of a cousin i became a rooster.

Every 7 year old has a hero , and mine was Horrie. Its funny how the ones that remain loyal are the ones you remember most.

There were many great wins in the early 80s, but its a loss that still remains fresh in my memory. A 12-11 loss.

It was the 1984 mid week cup final. Easts near the bottom of the ladder almost pulled of a miracle win , against a near origin side called Combined Brisbane ... It wasnt the loss ...It was the effort.

I have read countless threads on this forum, over the last couple of years, and I can understand the frustration that is out there amongst supporters at present. The last 3 years, current year included has been one crazy rollercoaster ride.

No supporter deserves what has been served by our team over the last 2 weeks.

However this fan is staying on the ride ... It will change ...It will get better.

To leave now, will only fuel the rubbish that is written in the telegraph.

Since 1908 and still riding ...

nice first post, and welcome to the chookpen mate.

Yep, the 80's and the birth of the 'transit lounge', even though we had rubbish sides, at least they had a go! The memories of Horrie and Hughie McGahan bring a smile to my face. Absolute legends
