He's aware of them, it was shared with him on Twitter. He and Moley both picked up on it and both agreed the chooks are getting dudded.

I don't know how to tweet.

Waerea-Beast says he knows anyway so that's good.

Yeah of course, we all know that. I think many of our detractors know the difference too, but pretending not to is like giving us a big fat "WHATEVER" with eyes closed, fingers in ears and blowing a raspberry!

The IQ of the average RL journo is not stellar though, so perhaps many of them really are in the dark.

Same with the forward pass rule and trajectory motion physics. You either get it or you don't. I can't seem to explain it to people on here either, most of whom still think the Tupou pass against Penrith was a mile forward (It wasn't!)

Really Stats aside , what I would like to see is consistency across each individual game as each game has its own influences.

What gets me is there is a distinct divide in the way rules are interpreted between the 2 sides matched against each other in the same game, especially where the Chooks are concerned.

Point in fact watch the Worriers game, the play where we are attacking their line from 2 metres away , one of the ruck defenders was 1.5M in front of Tryline had a direct influence on the Play, why wasn't that a penalty? ( 2 points definitely on offer)

Too lazy to do the data entry though.

A picture speaks a thousand words etc.
I can do this for you Flipper if you can do the pivot table... One of my nephews is an actuary and he's doing something for an NRL VIP and I'm sworn to secrecy but I can't wait to see the results

Give me a few days as I'm too tired during the week....LOL

Yes please RWB, in any Excel compatible format will do, or in Google Sheets etc.

I'm also looking at ways to automate the whole process by scraping the data off one of the stats sites to make it easily updatable.

Early days yet though. Will have a good go at it this weekend.

I hear you on the "too tired" during the week.

No worries Flipper. I'll do it in Excel and do all the rounds so far and also total for each team conceded and awarded to date. Perfect timing with the bye this weekend.

                  Just found this as well:

                          No wow...its completely reasonable apparently.

It's our own fault that we don't receive a fair share of allocated penalties and has no bearing on outcomes of games we are involved in.

We have nothing to complain about...all is right in the world of rugby league.

Apparently the refs could give us more penalties, but in turn they would have to give the other team more, so it is easier to give us less penalties, and not give the other team 10+ penalties every match, because it is not a good look to have to many penalties in one match.

Hope that is clear for everybody.

Brisbane were awarded 10 penalties in round one. When I was doing the weekly tallies, it took us 3 weeks to reach double digits. In other fascinating stats, St George were the first team to hit the 40 penalties received mark.
