  • Brian Smith sheilding key players from criticism?

I've listened to Tim Sheens and Kevin Moore over the weekend clearly identify where the issues are within their respective teams, even to the point of saying it's their "key" players that are at fault with their attitude and execution.

Why does Smith constantly sheild our key players from similar criticism? And why would he do that if he has lost those players? It doesn't make any sense. Smith is a hard arse, why is he such a soft cock with our players when it's clear they NEED a hard arse to get their attitudes and execution working.

    Chook.

He might be from the 'praise in public, criticise in private' school of thought. Maybe he shreds them in video sessions when its just staff and players and feels thats enough.

Nate Myles is a textbook example of the effect a mid year signing with another club has on motivation, desire. He has simply not tried his best for us.

Despite the headline, this is not what I want to hear from a supposed captain in waiting!

          http://www.smh.com.au/sport/a-league...709-1h7ss.html

Pearce conceded that the Roosters' play-off chances were gone but said that, with Four Nations positions on offer at the end of this season, there was a lot to play for.

I'll give you a lot to play for Mitch...what about putting some pride back in the jersey you wear you selfish karnt! What a farking thing to say after the year we've had! The more Pearce opens his mouth yet continues to fail at getting a simple repeat set the more he's losing my support.

Has anyone heard any of these overpaid pricks talk about pride in the jersey, pride in the emblem in 2011?

          Chook.

He isn't quoted in the article saying that. You know how journalists work. One minute people say journalists are hacks, the next minute they take what they say as gospel.

Imagine, if you will, what would happen if players were paid on a productivity basis.

They get their pay packet whether they play like the genetic offspring of Dally Messenger and Dave Brown or the genetic offspring of Brett Finch and John Simon.
