    Agreed.

He can cover centre when we have injuries.

changing him centre or wing to fullback and then not playing him at fullback for 3/4 a season was a huge mistake too

He's a good winger, no doubt, but he cannot defend in the centres and $500,000k is enormous for any winger. That's why he'll be let go.

Yeah, agree. Love seeing him in the clear from halfway from a long Pearce cut-out pass. Normally against a compressed defense. Problems are that there is normally no support back inside, and he never really backs himself to evade the fullback, or run over, around or through the fullback. Slows down and is easily cut down almost expecting to be tackled.

We cannot play mega salaries for all players in the team, we need some bargain cheapies to help subsidise our stars who are usually in spine positions or in Cordners case such an elite player and clubman he is worth marquee money. Most wingers are a dime a dozen and most of the successful clubs get away with paying unders to wingers or finding a new one to play on the flank. E.g Melbourne and Broncos.

Fergo will command a lot of money and some desperate clubs will throw crazy money to get him. Let him go, he is not that good anyway his attitude is like the wind always changing. When he is not playing for a contract or his career he is largely disinterested and shit an outside back version of Frank Paul imo. Players like Nathan Ross would command far less and are just as good on a week to week basis if not better and we have a few talented youngsters coming through the ranks. Another possibility is Rona if he comes in a fair amount cheaper than what Fergo will get.

Who are the talented youngsters you speak of?
                Please don't tell me JTS.

Bernard Lewis is coming along quite well and Manu if we sign another decent centre (eg Rona or Chambers) for less coin than Fergo would command for playing on the wing (probably won't happen)
It is not rocket science playing on the wing in first grade just learn to catch the ball, finish off tryscoring opportunities and early set hitups working it out from your end. Tackling appears to be an option for most Fg wingers these days lol. Why would you pay overs for someone like Fergo when even JTS if he improves could just about hold down a spot in FG one day?
I agree JTS is a bit of a plodder atm but it didn't stop the Sharks with S Feki getting a premiership. He was a first rate plodder 3-4 years ago.

BTW out of curiousity do you watch a lot of Wyong at the ground? Don't tell me you just watch them on idiot box at home. I don't see them live either but I have mates who do and tell me how certain players are going.
