  • Tetevano injured. Collins to debut?

Following the Roosters dominant win over the Eels in Round 10, one member of the first grade squad left the field with an injury.

Zane Tetevano was experiencing soreness in his knee after coming from the field and was examined by the medical staff to determine the severity of the injury.

After receiving scans on Monday, it is confirmed that Tetevano has damaged the cartilage in his left knee.

He is expected to only miss up to two weeks of NRL action.

The rest of the squad escaped without concern and will be available for selection against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs this Sunday afternoon.

    INJURY UPDATE

*Nat Butcher made his return from a shoulder injury in the Holden Cup last Sunday off the bench and got through the match unscathed.

Disappointing to lose Tetevano but it's always exciting to see a young debutant.

He must be next in line I assume?

It would be a good test for Collins up against a big pack like the dogs.

Is Matto back this week? He is off the injury list on the website.

We can afford these injuries in the forwards at the moment which is a nice luxury, with SST back he will make a lot of our other forwards look a lot better than what they are.

Yeah unless Matto is back you'd assume Collins would get a start

Good opportunity to see where one of our up and coming props development is at.

JWH played large minutes last week and Napa can play good minutes too. 10-15 mins before half time and another 10-15 in the second half would be nice for Collins should he play.

Interested to see the game plan v the dogs this week. Whether we try to go through them or whether we use our speed and play the likes of Watson. If tetvano is out I'd imagine Carter would come in.

Not Butcher, given he's already played 1st grade?

Butcher is only been back one week from a shoulder injury and only played in the 20s. Give him time and he will be playing some firsts again late in the season. We dont need him going down with a shoulder problem so soon again.

Butcher has played first grade? Are you sure? When did he debut?

Edit: My bad. Right you are.
(From Wiki) In round 26 of the 2016 NRL season, Butcher made his NRL debut for the Roosters against the Brisbane Broncos

Lol not sure how I missed that one.

Tetevano was strong last weekend. Gave us a lot off the bench.

Like brawl said he's one game back from a 2nd shoulder injury, but also because he's a lock, and that would mean either guerra or SST would be playing prop and i dont think that would be for the best. Collins can slide in as a straight swap for Tetevano.

Although I doubt it matters because Matto is 18th man.

Both Matto & Liu named in the extended squad. You'd think one of them will be OK & come in for Tetavano.

Butcher came off the bench against the Eels in the 20s. Ran and tackled well but I was amazed at how tiny he is compared to the others. He really looks like a halfback.
