2016 was a write off anyway.
Pearce's punishment was excessive for sure but the fact was he learnt from it and has become a better person and player for it.

The NRL may have inadvertently set up the Roosters for long term success because of it.

While common knowledge would say yes, not in my opinion. I always remember what what I've done while drunk and have never used being drunk as an excuse for forgetting something, or being a f*ckwit.

If anything, I'm quite respectful while drunk. I'll make sure I put away my junk and clean up any mess that I make. IMO while drunk we are still ourselves and exercise control/judgment over our actions (which we'll memorise). Just... small things seem amazing and everything's in slo-motion.

Biggest load of turd ever spoken by Bromwich the other day, so drunk to not remember doing coke, but sober enough to get back to your hotel?

People would have a lot more respect if he just said, yep did what I did, stupid thing to do, won't do it again.

sounds like somebody was having a certain easily obtainable prescription medicine with the booze if he was blacking out

The media seems to have brought it. Apart from Crash Craddock on The Back Page last night. He said what we all seem to think.

                .
Yeah, reflecting on JT's question, I guess it's different for every individual.
I"ve been through years of being a very heavy drinker, and have actually experienced what I'd call a blackout on two occasions.
But the missing events have been mundane , commonplace trivial type of stuff.

My best guess is Bromwich is telling porkies.
His "memory lapse" seems very convenient.

I'm going to say this again. The dog incident isn't why Pearce got hit hard by the NRL, he took young players, including Jayden Nikorima out with him on that drunken exercise. He also lost the captaincy because of that.

Nobody except the R.S.P.C.A. cared that he dry humped a dog.

No one knows who, how, when, where or why. It's passed and he's back playing awesome footy for the Roosters. Time to look forward.

                              I couldn't agree more.

He was given 8 weeks and a 125k fine because he took Niko and Copley on a bender with him? Give me a break!
