At what point do we welcome rehabilated humans back into our society?

The guy had an alcohol problem, did something extremely low, served his time and on the face of it has turned his life around.

I respect that some people will flat out just have a different opinnion to me but surely there has to be a point when we welcome rehabilitated people back with a 2nd chance.

you're right only his football talent matters to me who am I to judge the guy he did the so called crimes he did the time that was handed out to him I don't sit on my high horse judging people but if you and others want to that's the way you'll go

The crimes weren't so-called he admitted to them there is no excuse for hitting a woman and yes he did his time for his crime and has admitted his crime and that is great and I am happy for him to get his second chance but do not feel comfortable with him in a roosters jersey that is all and I don't believe I am sitting on a high horse just because my opinion is different to yours.

As I said to boogie, I am all for giving players a second chance but some crimes I rate worse than others and bashing on a woman - your wife no less - is appalling behaviour and getting drunk is no excuse in my book. I think he has been playing very well however. My point is not that he doesn't deserve a second chance it is that I personally do not feel comfortable seeing him in a Roosters jersey. I'd rather he have his second chance at another club. Yes that may seem irrational or appear to some as being on my high horse but as a female, I have very strong opinions on this subject.

I can't speak for Mighty Rooster & Novice Chook on this (although they have agreed with me so far on the Tetevano issue) .

But i think it comes back to the question of why we support our club in the first please doesn't it? The members make the club, but this is especially so with regards to the players and the coach - and all facets including their image, personality, likeability, skills etc come into the equation.

Most rugby league supporters want to barrack for a bunch of guys that they identify with and/or look up to.

That is very hard to do in the case of Tetevano.

He has made some awful mistakes and decisions in the past but he has served time in gaol and by the looks of it has been rehabilitated. I really think hardly anyone here would know what it is like to spend time incarcerated so I'm not going to judge him on his past actions.

Since he has played for Wyong and now with the Roosters he has represented us with distinction. I will be very happy if he continues with us. In spite of his mistakes, if he prevents one person hitting a partner in the future, through sharing his experience with impressionable younger players then he will be paying back his debt to society.

It's a tough one R6. And it can depend on what they are being rehabilitated for and the acts they committed.

For me, as a female footy fan, domestic violence is probably one of the worst acts you can commit, and I don't apologise for not particularly wanting players who have committed that crime wearing my colours each week. That's my personal opinion and I realise not everyone will agree with it.

Yes, Tetavano has made an effort to turn his life around. And I give credit for that. And I accept he is at the club for his footballing ability alone. But I still struggle to support the bloke after what he did.

The only problem with putting a troll on ignore is that you still see their bullshiit if someone quotes them.

                    Back to the topic.

I hope they give him a new deal. I don't pay much attention to his crimes as he has been punished and I had no problem signing Fergo. I think it comes down to degree.

the notion that there is no excuse for hitting a woman is not true my best friend had his thumb cut off and lost part of index finger thanks to a knife attack from his ex wife and the members do not make the clubs its the players who make the clubs

Yeah but Tetevanos partner wasnt attacking him with a knife so that argument is completely ridiculous

Fair point. Domestic violence is unacceptable whether it is the man or the woman who is the perpetrator. And as I said Tetevano was not provoked, pleaded guilty and has done his time. He deserves a shot at redemption and he appears to be taking that opportunity with both hands. It doesn't mean I have to like him wearing our proud colours though. It's a personal opinion which I accept many others would disagree with me on.

Tetevano has been given an opportunity and has taken it.
