I think more thought should at least go into the draw at origin time. Teams who are expected to lose players should get byes for a start and not the warriors and the like.

I find it frustrating because we're not THAT good this season, and we are funding NSW.

The Storm will only lose Cronk and Smith, who will get pepped up by an easy win (also they'll get that coke snorting prop back after his 2 week suspension). We're providing NSW squad with their captain, halfback and a finisher. All 3 will be expected to step up BIG time against a team that's impossible to beat. It will take a massive toll both physically and mentally...

On the plus side if we win. Faaaark if we win, all 3 will come back beaming after each game! Outside chance but I'd argue that could lift us enough to secure a premiership.

Guess that's the gamble you take. QLD's dominance has made it hard on NSW players though. Fans expect the impossible and players try to deliver it. I'll be more supportive of losing players to Origin when there's a serious chance that NSW will win. It's around the corner... this year Slater's been punted and JT might be injured. Darius Boyd and Milf are beatable when you've got Teddy and Maloney as their opposites.

I agree but question the practicality. Before the team was named I don't think Pearce, Guerra and Napa were definite selections. Also the Storm only lost 2 players this year.

I'd be a little angry if they paired us with the Storm because Slater wasn't picked. If anything I think being paired with Canberra was quite generous... had they started this season better we coulda had Cords + Fergo out (nobody else) while they had BJ, Austin, Papalii and a couple of others out. TBH I think that's what people were expecting during the pre-season.

I see what you're saying ism but i have to disagree. Recently every year the Raiders get a soft draw around Origin, as do St Merge and the Warriors. The raiders always get the game against the cowboys in canberra in the middle of winter at home with the cowboys either minus all their stars or backing up from Origin. We've had to play the Warriors over there minus our stars or this year play in Canberra minus our stars. St Merge have played the Storm minus their stars for a few years now. How many teams would love to play the storm without Smith and Cronk or the Roosters without Cordne, Pearce etc? The Origin period is when the Warriors traditionally hit form as do the Raiders. The fact they have a unique advantage with the weather helps but so too does the favourable draw they always receive at Origin time.

There are 26 rounds but clubs play 24 games.

If you play Origin on 3 stand alone weekends then you would have 24 rounds but the same number of games so no loss in tv revenue.

The clubs would have 3 byes - great time to refresh - during the Origin games.

That extends the season by 1 week. Scrap the stupid rep round and we're back on track with a 27 week regular season.

Problem solved. I'll take the CEOs job thanks.
Tommy , for once we agree , you have made a valid point - By my understanding , you are implying every team takes its byes at the same time , no lost time, no one disadvantaged.

Make it rep round. Have the Internationals played on the same weekend, instead of between round 8-9.

Test match Friday, Origin Saturday, test matches Sunday.

We do it now - an Origin game would make it a true rep round.

I'd like him to get a run. From all reports he's been going great in NSW Cup.

It would be the second coming in more ways than one.

Give the coke sniffer a break, because he doesn't remember doing it! Think we could do a lot worse than Canberra right now. Brisbane the week after, so will be interesting how Oates, Boyd and co pull up. We don't have anyone that can chase Roberts down, and their backline is good at the fend against the arm grabbers, anyway first things first! Should be a good Origin, hoping so for Mitch and without Farah there he has a chance now to run his own show finally.

Pearce should have said he didn't remember rooting the dog or the chick in the yellow dress incident.

Bromwich still misses the same amount of games and has a heavier loss in money, $140k I think.

Isn't he missing 2 or 4 club games?

Stood down for two club games and misses up to 6 World Cup matches which are worth $20k per game.
