Loads of linebreaks, good amount of tackle breaks and tries too. Not anywhere near as frightening as that Konrad Hurrell kid they have. Monstrous and powerful centre, tackle breaking dynamo.
Big differance is mack Hurrell is a centre who will end up in the backrow, Adam Henry is an out and out centre

never heard of him but looks a good prospect. Another club that has a few absolutely outstanding outside backs is the wests tigers. The likes of koroibete, tedesco, finau and nofoaluma are absolute superstars. I however would be equally content if we picked up tagive from the dragons as a potential solution to our enduring left wing issue at least as a short term potential stop-gap until the likes of blair and moga are ready to step up into the big time.

Tagive is heart attack material,no thanks..
Daniel Vidot would be a better option!

He's a kiwi kid from Auckland. This is his first season in NYC. One of the top try scorers for Warriors U20's team. Ackland has primarily played Henry at Winger, however he is a versitle back, playing at standoff and or centre. Fast and agile. He is of Maori descent.

This is his 1st year in NYC, he was top try scorer in the Sharman last year and played NZ Maori U18s and was named in NZ schoolboys the year before. He's no relation to Ben. I know Adam, nobody's worked harder to make the juniors side than he has this year. He'll be on a 2nd tier contract at the Roosters with match payment top ups for any 1st grade games so will spent most if not all the year with Newtown. The Roosters see him as a centre prospect which is good because he doesn't quite have the out and out speed for a 1st grade winger but has enough to cover the position.

He's mainly played centre and standoff in junior footy but Hurrell has outshone all other centres in the NYC so Adam's made the wing spot his and has had a good strike rate on the wing considering. Just last year Dean Bell was talking up Feki as a 1st grade prospect and Te Pou has long been regarded as being a player that had the talent to go on to 1st grade as well but Hurrells emergence has probably meant neither of them will be picked up by the Warriors at the end of the year. Adam's made the right move IMO.

Good on Adam Henry. Always dissapointing to see one of our 20s go but realisticlly we can't keep everyone. Hernry's chance of first grade game time here were not great at all so he's taken a chance, well done and all the best to him. He's not the next big thing but he seems to be a good kid with a good attitude and is a better player than mant on here give him credit. He will more than likley be at his best at centere and looking at the Roosters besides Skd there are some average players there without anything exciting so maybe in the next couple of years he may have a chance.

The Roosters aren't afraid to give reserve grade players a run. Might be a necessity as a result of the big money they pay the stars they've brought off other clubs over the years. It doesn't leave enough money to fill the rest of the roster with established 1st graders maybe.

Although a cheap signing, is he another 'BJ' as a winger?

So they think he is too slow to be a winger, but centre would suit him more. Sounds like another BJ to me. Of the little I have seen of him play, Moga seems a better prospect.

Or will he turn into another lazy Soliola/Sa clone?

                      Comment 3 sounds familiar!

the fact this guy isnt noted for his speed has pretty much turned me off him as a prospect. as a centre, i think he will have his work cut out to supplant linnett because linnett also has all the skills but most importantly, pace. The backline i see developing for us looks something like this:
                        1.??
                        2. Moga/Blair
                        3. Linnett
                        4. SKD
                        5. Perrett
                        6. Carney
                        7. Pearce

                          That is one average backline

I've never heard a player have more premature plaudits hurled at them than Linnett

Maybe he will be a good player, but as it stands he has done close to fark all

i tend to agree which is why i think we should be looking to get a winger in the offseason (either simmonds, tagive, oldfield or vidot) to help cover our left edge. the thing is that even if you dont rate linnett, we have moga, rona, blair in the 20s, j-carney playing for newtown and leilua on the wing in firsts who is best suited either in the centres or in the backrow all competing with linnett for that centre spot. all of those players have excelled at some level so the law of averages tells me that at least one of them (which is all we need) will come good and fill our left centre spot. for the time being, linnett is worth persisting with and doing a good enough job for mine - not many errors, good footy brain, strong defence, consistent, fast.

its the wing and fullback category that we lack depth in which is why i agree with many and propose we get slaimankhel from the warriors to play 20s and a bit of firsts next year and keep mini on one more year. this will allow us time to see whether slaimankhel can be minis replacement. if not, we can then go in the market for dugan and co
