Was definitely my childhood favourite at a time when I honestly thought I wouldn't live to see a premiership. I once sat in front of Salvo at the SFS (he wasn't playing) and I was eating a meat pie and I couldn't finish it. I asked my dad and nearby friends if they wanted it and Salvo leaned forward and said "I'll have it". And then Salvo ate my pie!!!

1992 was a better season in my opinion. We won the first four games including Balmain at Leichhardt Oval on a Saturday afternoon. Rod Silva scored a slashing try.

I thought the headbutt was in against Penrith in 1992.

He did his knee in 1993 at the WACA against Canberra fairly early in the season. That's what ruined it for us.

ill trust the word of others as my memory is not what it used to be but I thought that the competition was extremely strong in those years its a pity that our eastern suburbs weren't part of the top clubs there we're some quality teams in the early 80s when I was a young boy too

Hi Boogie, we know Broncos won the comp that year but if anyone was to beat them it would have been Canberra who were clearly the other dominant team until a few weeks before the semis and yes I think Stuart was injured and Daley may have been playing injured at the end of the season.

I went to the Broncos verses Canberra semi that year and although Broncos won it pretty well, geez the quality of both teams was incredible.
