Pritchard spreads his healthy message to Clovelly
13/07/2011 9:30:28 AM
CLOVELLY students were treated to a personal training session with Sydney Roosters fullback Rhys Pritchard recently.
Nursing a collarbone injury, Pritchard visited Clovelly Public School and other eastern suburbs schools for a special assembly to teach the youngsters about healthy habits.

Pritchard, who also owns a personal training business, asked the students to demonstrate their best push-ups and star jumps.
“My job is to make sure that mums and dads are exercising and staying healthy so they can take care of you guys,” he told the students.
“If we eat a lot and we’re not exercising then we could find ourselves having health problems and going into hospital.”
The students answered questions on healthy eating and fitness before turning the tables on Pritchard to ask him questions about his football career.
They also asked about former Clovelly student and Roosters player Tom Symonds, who Pritchard described as “very genuine and well-liked among the squad”.
THE STUDENTS’ QUESTIONS FOR RHYS PRITCHARD
* How much do you weigh? “A lot more than you!”
* How many games have you played? “I have been playing since I was six so probably about 500 games.”
* How many games have you won? “I’m not sure off the top of my head, but I’d like to hope it’s more than I have lost.”
* What sports have you played besides football? “Touch football, rugby union, surf life saving and athletics.”
* What are your favourite colours? “Red, white and blue.”
