No wonder they want him replaced.

If he went, they would go well.

    Prince and Benji were awesome.

Carney and Benji would be lethal.

Such a shame to consider how good our halves pairing could be.

Btw, we are going to go on a roll now.
    Get on them this weekend?

Because Pearce is an organiser and Carney is a running 5/8?

Even if the Tigers have cap space for Carney, The Tigers would need to spend a motza to gain Carney's signature and I doubt they have this type of cash to spend. I could not imagine the petulant Marshall having a player in his team that could upstage himself. The Roosters are still buying young, inexpensive players with potential, and should have a tidy warchest to splash out in the latter half of next year. Anticipating the howls of rorters, salary cap theives, etc. etc. etc.

There is not the remote chance of him signing with them after today's events.

However, imagine if he actually did...leaving us after all we've done for him. It'd be up there with Rooney leaving Everton, Lebron leaving Cleveland etc..

What crap these people make, if it we're true, then Carney is pretty selfish after all we've done for him.

What crap these people make, if it we're true, then Carney is pretty selfish after all we've done for him.
TODD CARNEY scored more points on his own yesterday than Sydney Roosters have managed for more than three months, but the 2010 NRL player of the year did not want to talk about his performance afterwards.

Despite initial indications Carney would agree to his first interview since he was stood down by the club in April for breaching an agreement not to drink, he later told Roosters officials he thought one good game wasn't enough to earn him back-page headlines.

He is also believed to be angry he was filmed at a Bondi tattoo parlour last week and video footage was posted on a website, along with a report questioning his commitment to the Roosters.

Only the week before, a newspaper report claimed Carney wanted out of the club he helped take from wooden spooners in 2009 to grand finalists last year.

Carney is understood to have been so upset by the article he phoned Roosters supremo Nick Politis and spoke to officials about wanting to make a statement to defuse the speculation.

In the end, it was decided that Carney should let his football do the talking. In the two weeks since, the 25-year-old playmaker has shown signs that he is slowly getting back towards his best.

The week before that, Carney asked to play for the Roosters' feeder team, Newtown, in a bid to regain the confidence that he appeared to have lost after off-season groin surgery and several off-field incidents.

Besides the two tries he scored yesterday, Carney made two line breaks and his kicking game helped pile pressure on Penrith side that turned in its worst performance for a month.

"I thought Todd came up with a couple of those special plays," Roosters coach Brian Smith said.

"In attack that is his specialty. But that play he put on for Sam Perrett's try on Monday night [against Canberra], that kick into the corner spot under pressure, that is when my eyes start to twinkle, when I see stuff like that.

"I love it when he backs himself and goes for that sort of play. I thought he backed that up today with some more stuff and from my point of view I am happy about that for Todd and for us."

Plus considering the Tigers signed Blair and Reddy plus have Marshall, Farrah, Ellis, Lawrence, Galloway, Lote and now look unlikely to release Heighington, I can't see them signing another big name let alone paying out any of Toddy's contract next year. I'm sure the releesing of players was for the $500K Blair was demanding. Remember the rumours were the Tigers were after Dugan and Lewis as well. Just a beat up.

Some of you have rocks in your head if you want to split up the Pearce/Carney pairing. Sure things haven't gone right for us this year but have some ****ING faith in the halves! They haven't suddenly lost their ability. It's all in the head. Carney is having a rough trot this year and most of it is self inflicted but you don't just give up on his playing ability. The guy can single handed turn a game upside down.

Mark my words...we will win a GF with this current crop of youngsters (even some of the ones coming through). It may not be this year or the next but it will happen soon.

It started with Paul Kent a couple of weeks ago and it's taken off from there.
The fact it started from one of the three stooges at the Daily Crap should be enough to know it is BS.

Ah, makes alot more sense now that Kent and the Telegraph pretty much started it. No Surprise.
