At the beginning of last year I responded to a thread saying that I did not think Latrell was not ready for first grade. Robbo played him and he gained valuable experience through a tough year for the Chooks.
This year Latrell started well and started to think he was a one man team, again this is due to a lack of maturity that was my concern last year. Robbo made a tough decision to drop him to Wyong, yes we struggled during that period and I remember some people going off that he should never have been dropped, how attack was now atrocious.
Now I think this was a great move by our coach, Mitchell needed a wake up, you can score tries all day but his lazy attitude in defence was not acceptable and he needed a wake up!
What a big call it was at the time.
Great game by Mitchel today but I have to say how good was Ryan Matterson's game today, he is an enormous talent. He is one of my favourite players. He excites me much like RTS did when he started with us.
Also Pearce, JWH, and even the much maligned Adian has a good game today.
It was good just to sit back and watch a win without stressing. I know we dropped I lot of ball but this was just one of those games.
I have high hopes for this year, even more so than next year as I feel we will have to lose some depth players because of the Tedesco signing.
Anyway I had a few beers and just wanted to write some stuff.
Go the Chooks

Love it 👍👍
Lattrell would still be trotting out for Wyong if SKD hadn't of been busted with a bag of rack at Ivy.
No master plan there by Robbo. Just a strange twist of events that has worked out well for all except SKD.
Can't agree with that. Latrell would have been back after a few games, whether SKD is busted or not. Manu would have made way, despite playing very well.
But it has certainly worked out well. Manu gets better every game.
Latrell has been handled perfectly by Robbo. He needed a kick up the ass and has come out of it a better player.
As for Matterson, he is simply outstanding. We have a real arsenal of forwards which is leading our charge.
He has the potential to be a complete forward. Big, strong, quick, footwork, and excellent ball skills.
I'm worried about our forwards this year, I think we are well behind the likes of sharks, Melbourne, cows. Can't wait to play them soon to see how they match up.

The draw in some way has been kind not to have played the cows sharks & storm, giving us time to recover from last year and get the system working again, but the big storm is coming, pun intended.

we will be too quick for both those sides if the game managers allow the game to flow

I think our forwards are doing just fine, we can match the best.
I really think its us, Storm and Sharks. The storm with their perfect "no mistake" game plan is a concern but I think we can have a real crack this year!

Agreed. JWH and Cords have been absolutely huge this season, perhaps the best in the comp. SST always looks dangerous, Matto improves every week, Jake would probably have been picked for NSW for Origin 1 if eligible, Dylan's playing strongly, Maubs beats more tackles that he has a right to, Aidan has done good things, Tets is a bull of the bench ...
I feel sorry for M. Gordon. One year and gone.
But if holding him for another year cost us Manu, Mitchell or Watson then thanks for the memories dude.
He knew the deal so anything else is a plus but holding onto him if we want won't cost us any of those. We have already officially offloaded two players and I'm sure there are more to come, except the ones you mentioned. They're keepers. Well not sure about Watson cause I heard a rumour today that he can stay or he can leave. Just a rumour for all those wanting to jump.
