  • Roosters vs Storm in Adelaide: Match Thread

Getting this thread in early given the big news post Origin on player availability.

We'll be missing Cordner but the Storm are resting Slater, Cronk and Smith, and Chambers is out with concussion too.

Suddenly this is a great chance to maintain our momentum and charge towards the top 4. It was never going to be a true test of where we're at as its 72hrs after an Origin so I'll happily take the 2 points any way we can.

We may be missing more than Cords. What about Napa?

So long as Pearce plays we should win.

Napa might need a rest or maybe just have him play the opening 20 min and see if he's needed after that.

Btw this is why I was ecstatic that the Storm beat the Cows last week.

Aside from perhaps knocking the Cowboys out of the top 4 race I figured they'd rest most or all of their big 3 as at 12-2 they're almost assured a vital top 4 spot.

If we win this as we should then we just need to split the next two vs Sharks and Rabbits to come out of the Origin period with a 12-5 record and a bye post Origin 3 to freshen up.

        Happy days.

I was sad the Cows lost and then I reflected on how much better it was for us - even without these players being rested.

Now if Thurston is more or less gone the Cows are no threat anyway.

I just read that Boyd was a shattered mess in dressing room well after most had left. Journo reckons it's partly cause he knows he's stuffed his calf and won't be there SOO3.

i hope there was at least a few thoughts of the mighty RWB

Arrived back from the game in Adelaide this evening - many non League supporters in attendance I would say - seemed lost what was happening in golden point though and through much of the game- don't know if played at the Alliance they would get such a crowd though - 21.4 k - I think highly unlikely- Very average performance but two points is two points as they say- Munster not a goal kicker I suggest as the last one even I could have kicked- lucky he missed - Need to be on the ball this week against a Sharks side that what I understand was very poor even though Manly look a certain top 8 side- Will no doubt be looking to bounce back and Cordner long odds for SOO 3- Meaning he wont play against the Sharks

Would not be surprised if more home games are taken to other venues though as would not get 21.4 k at Alliance vs Storm

I though we were absolutely pathetic and lucky to come away with the victory at best!!!! Although it could have been a very similar result if Melbourne were at full strength, as those kids played like Smith, Cronk & Slater.....

It was a good thing the pen was down. It could have exploded in that game.
