  • Boyd "Origin player" Cordner

    Missing again this week.

I absolutely positively don't doubt this blokes love and commitment for the Roosters. I'm just not happy that he'll basically be missing the entire middle third of every NRL season for the next 5-7 years.

Should it come into calculations to determine his contract value that he'll miss so many club games because he's getting bashed in Origin every year?

Such a crucial clash against the Sharks and we're again missing our leader because of that exhibition game. No SST too.

The Sharks could well bash us up the middle.

SST and Boyd are a big loss to our go forward.

Sometime you talk good sense Tommy No Corder or SST? Sharks might bash us. Hopefully JWH is fired up but still. You could see Cordner being missed in defense last week.

I'm happy with the fact our Captain is NSW captain. We should be proud of that and injuries are a necessary evil. Won't always be the case tho.
This game was going to be tough for us even with s full strength pack. Now we have a greatly weakened backrow, so weak that Guerra starts , against a Sharks side coming off a loss
            Gonna be a tough one.

              Cordner deserves a pay rise.

End of the day the market will dictate what he is worth and Id be paying him every cent of that. Can't afford to lose him.

To our advantage is a 3:00 arvo game. Hopefully the weather will be fine as predicted and we can play a fast open game. We traditionally go well in this time slot. Still a big ask, but we might be able to negate their pack a little with some quick ball movement.

Bookies say we are favourites but I reckon the Sharks will win easily. I compared the teams side-by-side and they've got the wood on us already (despite not having a hooker).

I'm a bit meh about missing Cords. He makes a big difference but so long as we have him for the crunch rounds and the finals I'm sweet. It's a bummer, but depth is an important part of winning a premiership. If we can't win without him during a normal round, we can't win the premiership.

Robbo would disagree but IMO it's a good chance to give our depth players some experience and a bit of a challenge. Loaing 3 games during Origin shouldn't kill our finals/premiership odds either if we are the goods...

Tried to be positive below, but can't see us getting within 18 of the guppies.

They will easily win the battle in the middle. Then they'll go to the edges - our left a huge concern (no coords, plus latrell, keary, toups).

Cronulla play as the Storm does so expect the same game plan. Targeting latrell/keary. Sweeping set plays on our line and wingers diving 5m to score. Also, see grubber plays with Maloney and Townsend combining.

Hopefully no intercepts too (would be nice).

They will slow down the ruck, they always do against us.

The lack of a seasoned hooker won't be an issue for them (hell Fifita could be dummy half and they'd go ok).

Coming off a whipping by the pigeons, I'd say they'll be psyched. Expect Graham to have a huge one (as he always does against us).

Apart from all of the above, there's always Souffs to look forward to without our Origin Stars.

Sharks were pretty bloody bog average against Manly. Very beatable if they play like that again. We are probably playing them at a good time. There are rumours that all is not well with them at the moment particularly Maloney.

Hopefully they cough up two crap games in a row, my sharkies mate watched the game with me so I paid closer attention and they were terrible

It doesn't matter if they're going bad or in peak form, the Sharks seem to always get us. I really hate this game and we always seem to play them twice every year.

What's wrong with Jimmy? Contract issues? He's always welcome back...

Yeah wants more money according to the rumours. I don't know how true. Some sharks fans think he is playing like he doesn't want to be there.
