BBQ certainly defended terribly. THey singled him out for the entire game.

Most Sharkies fans probably think they'll lose this one easily because they reckon they've been awful for the best part of 2 months (which is true).
And no natural hooker will really hurt them imo.
I only fear the Sharks when we're clear favourites. In this instance it's probably 50/50 so will take those odds.

It is a 50/50 game with us missing a few gun forwards but the Sharks have been pretty bog average this season in many games.
Their first half performances have been pretty terrible apart from a few matches. Their class and grit has got them out of a few situations against lesser teams.
I think they are a bit jaded and have been struggling at times against the intensity of teams who rise to the challenge of playing the Premiers.
Either way it gives our depth players a good hit out and I am sure our boys will rise against the reigning premiers.Originally posted by Bondi Boy
Pathetic!
What a rabble we are.
Oh well, maybe next year

Even when they were really shit, the gummies always seem to do well against us.
What is Flanno's problem with easts? Did he leave on bad terms after Sticky era? Wasn't it when we were looking at signing unwanted Tagatese, that suddenly sharks extended his contract? Even in the press, remarks regarding easts are never favourable.
Go Easts

I'm with Tommy on this re: Cordner.
I'd hate him to become another Gallen/Hayne/Myles/Morris/Dugan - players who's career seems to revolve around Origin and not club footy, and who only seem to be fit when the $30K games are coming around.
I'd hate to lose him, and I'm sure he'll be due an upgrade due to his new found status, but he's been unlucky with injuries throughout his career and being NSW captain certainly won't help that.

Purely from an injury and club vs State perspective. In no way am I comparing their personalities.
Up until last year Gallen seemed to barley play any club games but was always right for SOO. If he played 18 club games a year that was a great result.
Now Boyd has a similar history of a busted body. Does he go down the same path? Playing 16 club games a year but getting up for 3 Origin games only to bust himself even more in the process?
I'd hate to think so.
But so far he got injured in Origin last year and missed a few games and has now done so again this year.
I don't like where this is headed because we need the best out of Boyd to win Premierships, but I think Origin will sap him of his best by wrecking his body.

This is the same bloke who busted his backside playing for 80 mins against the Broncs after SOO1 and won us the game. Injuries happen, and could have just as easily happened in a club game.
What makes Cords any different to TKO who injured his hamstring at the training run and won't play for a week or two? It's the same result in the end.
Cords has always given nothing less than 110% to the Chooks and anyone who doubts his loyalty and commitment to the club needs their head read. I hope he's a 1 club player at our club for the next 10+ years.Supporting the RW&B, through good times and bad times.

"I absolutely positively don't doubt this blokes love and commitment for the Roosters".
And yet I still figured someone would misinterpret my words. Shock horror.
He's the heart and soul of our team alongside Friend JWH and Aubo.
I just think that the club, who pays his wages, has a right to feel aggrieved that he'll basically miss much of the middle third of the season for the rest of his career and receive ZERO dispensation.
In no other sport in the world do elite players have to endure so much physical toll in rep games whilst simultaneously either backing up on short notice or missing multiple club games; causing the club to suffer too. NO OTHER SPORT.
Its horseshit and it's time for Origin to be on stand alone weekends.

Boyd's not the problem. 3 games of Origin is the problem.
If they reduced Origin to 2 stand alone games a year, with Origin players banned from playing the week before, and clubs with big Origin representation pitted against each other, the disruption would be minimal.
