Lol, well said. But unfortunately for me I'm very passionate about not only the hammering we copped today, but our strategy to address our weaknesses going forward.

Yep, but I will start my RWB therapy sessions again.

Ethan Lowe would be a handy buy back

Happy to agree with the original post, but the team has exceeded my start of season aspirations and all I can say is TG for small mercies. On a more upbeat note I was very impressed with the Roos who look like they will carry the flag for us this year as did the U20s last year... we won't mention the latter again, this year pretty hopeless actually. The Roos are an extremely well coached, enthusiastic, aggressive and smart team. Rip Taylor is very impressive and gives a great interview. I don't know anything about him but wish him the very best from here on out and I just wish they were on the TV more often.

NO, we've got quality second rowers coming out of the wazoo at the moment.

We desperately need 1, preferably 2 no frills props that will run hard and straight.

Both Evans and Lui are meant to be doing that job but are clearly not up to the job (neither have the temprament to be quality props)

We have gone from 15th to 4th in the space of a season.

We have let go Guerra, SKD and Evans.

We're investing valuable time into the next generation; Latrell, Manu, Keary, Matterson & Butcher.

              And we've signed James Tedesco.

These are facts. Unles you think Aiden Guerra is world class, 15th is better than 4th & James Tedesco is shit then I can't see how anyone can actually believe the statement 'we are farked'.

We might not be able to beat the top echelon clubs but if that's all we're not doing at the moment I'll take it.

We can't be premier's every season.

Yeah thats because the refs the touchies the bunker the NRL, the Murdoch press, channel 9 & the Daiily up up Cronulla Telegragh sports chief editor at large P Rothfield are all in cahoots against us.

R6. I agree we can't be premiers every season, BUT how or what do you feel about our teams Prop shortage (i.e going backwards when the starting props get interchanged)? Also how do you feel about our weekly terrible defensive misreads on the edges, particularly by our young centers?
How do you feel about our clubs efforts so far to address these issues?
Even with Teddy, how are we going to 'fix' these glaringly obvious weeknesses to actually become a real threat in 2018? Because from what I've seen, 2017 is gone. I've been talking about our very poor go-forward for over a year now. As I have been going on about our terrible edge defense, especially against basic block plays in our 20m. Throw in very little line speed and we are inviting teams into our 20m to totally dominate field possession.
There is a very good reason Cronulla had 100% completion in the 1st half and almost as good in the 2nd, and that is little to no defensive pressure and aggression from us.
So taking into account what I've stated above, and couple that with a very tough run to seasons end, I still say 'we are farked', and 2018 is not looking very promising either

What shytes me the most is Cronulla making us look like a reserve grade team whilst they were in second gear. We are absolutely no chance of making the top 4, and the top 8 may be out of reach also.

Trouble was that Freddy Fittler saw Ethan as another Fitzgibbon - goal kicking second rower - another one who got away and has made a name with someone else- Tamou the same - oh but you can't keep them all- I can see Watson making it big with someone else too- but again oh you can't keep them all is all I hear

It's more of the case of the Roosters not being a 15th place side in 2016 than any improvement this year I suggest - as Gus said last year that the Roosters have to be the best 15th placed team he's seen

I would not be given up on 2017 as better judges than me see the potential in the team but not enough week in week out consistently over 80 minutes - Gus Gould said the same- Bad day at the office last two weeks one win and one loss- plenty of work to do though and well if we get all troops on board and on the same page and fix the bleeding obvious weaknesses we can be competitive and once you are competitive in a game and stay with the other team anything can happen. It's when you get behind /drop your heads and your game deteriorates is when the trouble starts- got to show much more resilience in defence when possession is going the other way and in defending errors- were not good in that area- Sharks made ground at will in their sets and capitalised on our mistakes and made the Roosters look second rate.

Sharks are not a 32 point better team than the Roosters and neither are the Storm a 30 point better team than the Bronco's.

Our players aren't clever enough to win a comp! We don't have a Jimmy, mini or SBW with a bit of smarts.
They had about 2/3 sets and we were hanging on and then JWH gets grubby sticking his hand in Gallen's head and they score from the next set after getting the penalty. We get back in it with a great try and then we give away another stupid penalty after defending for a few sets and they score again. The ref wasn't interested in giving any penalties until we played dumb and all of a sudden it's 5/1 in the count and they put three early tries on the board. Why do they do it? Especially in our own half which just invites pressure on our young edge defence. It was like watching a train wreck that you could see coming. I think we will get top 8, but I can't see us winning anything. Not enough smarts throughout the team to match the likes of Storm or Cronulla.

I think the forum should be closed for the first 48 hours after a loss. That way it may give people a chance to calm down before posting dribble.
