  • Paul Carter

For anyone who gives a shit (which I'll guess is close to zero) Paul Carter has joined a club up here on the mid north coasts group 2 competition.

I care a little bit as I am from that way originally - what club is it?

If he kept on the straight and narrow? He would have been valuable against the scum tonight.

I missed that bit. It was on nbn news and couldn't find anything online. Group 2 isn't exactly the strongest comp and even half tanked, he'll rip it up this way

Makes sense in playing in Group 2 as his father (Steve- former Penrith Great) is the Group 2 under 23's rep side Coach

Was he ever better than Mitch Cornish? I don't think he's as good as everybody keeps suggesting.

Cornish is technically quite good, he's clean, he's a Roosters fan and the coaches are really happy with him.

I broached this pre-season and everybody was like 'naaah he was never first grade quality'. I'm in Canberra and for sure everybody was excited about him a few years back. Instead, Canberra decided to go ahead with guys light Jack Wighton and Josh McCrone. He's a good buy and a keeper in my books, particularly if Watson's chasing big $$$

PS - I'll find the thread. I was laughed at and told Cornish won't play any 1st grade this season (and that he was never earmarked by Canberra). Always love it when people talk like insiders then the truth makes them look stoopid.

' ever better than Cornish ' ??? WTF they play different positions so there is no point in comparing the two

For starters you said it was Tyler who was the talented one lol....Milanja bumped the post re Cornish. Mitchell was the good one so try to stick to the facts my friend.

Mitchell Cornish was to cover or start half, I never suggested he would be replaced by Carter. It was for Carters aggression more than anything was for either Evans or Butcher but Evans played well and Butcher while he struggled the other night show promise.

Anyway moot point but I never suggested Carter was to replace Cornish, just that if he wasnt a dickhead i implied his agression is something we have lacked until last Friday.

Further you were saying in that thread Tyler was the more talented Cornish brother when that is not further from the truth and it was proven bigtime last Friday night. Go and reread the thread that Milan bumped for ya...

                        Cheers Jizz...

Great Stuff This is coming out now

Former Rooster Paul Carter faces court over allegedly supplying Shaun Kenny-Dowall with cocaine

Emma Partridge and Michael Carayannis, EXCLUSIVE, The Daily Telegraph
                            4 minutes ago
RUGBY league bad boy Paul Carter will face court next month after allegedly supplying cocaine to his ex-Roosters teammate Shaun Kenny-Dowall, with both players now axed from the club.

Police will allege Carter supplied Kenny-Dowall with cocaine at the Ivy in May this year.

The Daily Telegraph understands Carter is allegedly captured on the nightclub’s security footage handing over the drugs.

Kenny-Dowall pleaded guilty to having 0.29 grams of cocaine on him when he fronted court last month. Shaun Kenny-Dowall in action for the Roosters. Picture: Getty ImagesCarter has been sacked by the Roosters.
Carter and Kenny-Dowall were teammates, albeit, for a brief period at the Roosters this year. Both have since been released by the club.

Carter was served with a future court attendance at Coffs Harbour police station on Thursday. It is understood Carter has been living with his dad Steve — a former NRL player with Penrith.

He is due to appear before the Downing Centre Local Court on August 28.

In a statement the NSW Police Force said a future court attendance notice was served after an investigation by Sydney City Local Area Command.

“About 1am on Friday the 5th of May, police will allege that they saw a 25-year-old man supply an illegal drug to another man in a George Street, Sydney nightclub,” the statement said.

Carter was let go in June with the Roosters issuing a short statement saying the club “wished Paul all the best in the future and will not be making any further comment regarding this matter.” Former Sydney Roosters NRL star Shaun Kenny-Dowall. Picture: AAP
Carter played 40 NRL games with three clubs since making his debut in 2014. His axing from the Roosters follows sackings at the Titans and South Sydney for alcohol-fuelled off-field incidents.

Carter was dumped by the Titans in 2014 after being caught drink driving twice in a year. He lasted two seasons at South Sydney before his time at the club came to an end last year.

He was released by the Rabbitohs after breaching the club’s code of conduct and clauses in his contract Carter failed to turn up to training following a long alcohol drinking session. It came at a time when he had just signed a two-year contract extension with South Sydney.

Carter attended a Thailand rehabilitation facility following his Rabbitohs departure.

The 25-year-old was thrown a lifeline by the Roosters this year after the club offered him a one year deal. He played just three NRL games.

Kenny-Dowall has been able to resurrect his career at Newcastle, making a mid-season switch after signing with the club until the end of 2019.

Kenny-Dowall, a Kiwi international, pleaded guilty to possession when he appeared at the Downing Centre Local Court and was handed a 12-month good behaviour bond without a formal conviction.

Seems an awful lot of police work and taking up of the courts time over 0.29 grams of ****ing cocaine to be honest.

Between the SKD and Carter cases the NSW government must be on the hook for $200-300K easy for this thing once you consider the court costs and police man hours involved.

                              What a waste of time
