That's the great thing about opinions BG, everyone's entitled to one. And we can agree to disagree.

One question, why should Shack be forced to wait and perform for the Chooks to receive a contract upgrade when imports are bought in without having to do either and on bigger money than he's after??

The Roosters have made so many mistakes in the past by recruiting players based on form for other clubs only to find they don't fit into the way the Roosters play and so underperform.

At least we know what we're getting with Shack. And unlike some others in the Club, he actually has some pride and passion for the club and what it stands for. And it's those characteristics that are sorely needed if this Club is to suceed.

As for Kouparitsis, he should be bloody paying us he's that bad. The dogs are well rid of him.

I agree with you on the recruitment problems and am not saying that we have recruited well the past few years. With players like Mason and Myles we knew what we were getting they had performed on the field and in Mason's case at the highest level.

As for Shack he has been busted and broken for the past 2 years and who knows what the future for him holds. I do agree with you that he plays hard and is a passionate Roosters man....I don't question that.......but to offer him a 2 or 3 year deal based on what he is delivered is just as bad as our past few years or recruitment.

For the record I hope he does stay fit and later in the season his deal is extended as a fit Shack will be a good asset. I do believe to date the club has been very loyal to Shack.

And yep we will agree to disagree on the rest

Anyone think the delayed decision could be in respect to the Cowboys making a move for Myles? Cowboys are attempting to offload Carl Webb to the UK would free up cash for Myles.

He would fit in at the Cowboys. I wish him well but would rather he stayed here.
As for Kouparitsis, he is yet to show why he has been signed.

could also be that we need to offload players first so we can keep him

Problem is BG, no other NRL club would want the players we may be attempting to offload (eg; Ogre, Mason??) unless we contribute a fair amount towards their new contract. As usual, we paid well over what they were worth and now we're stuck with them at that inflated salary.

And Ogre for one I don't reckon wants to go O/S and we can't force him if he has a valid contract with us.

So not sure that's an option.

Wasn't there supposed to be a falling out between the ex-doggies?? Maybe Nate is waiting to see if the trouble maker goes???

He played very well for the other state tonight and showed his worth so I hope the Roosters can keep him by making a complete turnaround in form this year. Not holding my breath on either count.

I really rate Myles as a forward that you can build your forward pack around in the future. A very good leader, not by talking but by leading by example.

You can always tell a special player from all the little things that he does like chasing a player no matter the outcome, putting pressure on the kicker, diving on the ball, etc ..

Didn't even know Snapper had an offload in him..........but hey all our forwards run one out, so you wouldn't know.

shack told me he has the offer on the table from easts but has just been too slack to go and sign it, he likes to watch them squirm a bit too, he showed no inclination at all 6y5to leave, he said all his mates are here, why would you leave your mates? but then Margaret McKenzie had him in a headlock at the time of this chat!

I am suprised he did not run as far as he can then !!! LOL

Shack better watch out though, he may like to watch them squirm, but that contract can be taken back just as quickly !
