  • Stopping play for injuries...

What is the protocol for Refs stopping the play for injured players?

It seems as though they have stopped the game for injured opposition many times, but we are never given the same courtesy.

I remember a few weeks back SKD was made to hobble off the far side of the pitch whilst the opposition continued to attack. There was a match not long after that (maybe storm) where play was stopped so one of their guys (not near the play) could be taken off.

Similarly, on Sat night. Crocker is given time to be treated and taken off (as he should've been). For mine this changed the game, we were well on top at this stage and it gave Souffs a chance to catch their breath. Inglis and Luke killed it after this break in play. What irks me was when Anthony Mitchell was down play just went on and we were made to defend with 12.

It has happened multiple times this season and is really starting to give me the shits!

Inconsistencies such as mentioned above do annoy me also, got to expect it with the current bunch of duds in pink though - they've got no idea.

You also have to ask the question, when Anthony mitchell was knocked out on saturday night, what was play not stopped?

I think that was what the initial thread was about. Answer is simple. There is one rule for all teams and for teams that play Easts and another seperate rule for Easts

Harrigan is a stubborn ****, can't admit when he's wrong. They couldn't of picked a worse bloke for the job.

I was wondering the exact same thing. That was also our fifth tackle and we were on a roll and had them retreating. However, like they did, the play should have been stopped. Then it's double standards when Mitchell's laying on the ground and play rolls right past him.

I made the exact comment during the game and on the reply it was evident that the official had a clear view of the incident, Correct me if I am wrong , but wasn't there a death in another code from a head knock. I realise Referees aren't doctors and generally act when trainers catch their attention , but they do have a duty of care. It may also need the League to look at how they handle head knocks eg; if knocked out you must be taken from the field and cleared by a doctor even sit out the rest of the game.

And now within 10 mins of the Titans Cowboys game...

They stop the f@cking clock when play is 20 metres past a slightly dazed Ray Thompson.

It makes me so damn angry and sick!
