  • Don't worry, everything's under control. Old pal Nick's got a plan...

Good to hear Politis is officially in the market for the Wallabies halfback. He loves the Reds style of play, keen observer that he is.

Anyone can see that what we need's another half.

It's either that or a few more second rowers. Can't have too many second rowers.

A tough as fcuk metre-eating prop? Forget about it.

    Things are looking up.

"Roosters fan Cooper could become the tricolours' No.1 priority
QUADE COOPER's declaration that he has a soft spot for the Roosters and is a big Brad Fittler fan should have the ARU very nervous. Cooper has a contract with the ARU until the end of next year. He is managed by Khoder Nasser. He has an agreement in place with the Nine Network, which is run by David Gyngell - a mad Roosters supporter. The Roosters are well equipped at five-eighth - even Cooper thinks Todd Carney is a gun. "That jumper is pretty well filled at the Roosters," he said. But Cooper may be the ideal man to replace Anthony Minichiello, who is under contract for one more season at the club, at fullback . Minichiello's agent David Riolo says he has opportunities for the star fullback in European rugby, but he is likely to have at least one more year here. And here is the really interesting part of the story - Roosters chairman Nick Politis has suddenly found himself watching Reds games - as well as his beloved Roosters. Nasser is said to have the utmost respect for Politis. He likes his style and how he backs his players through tough times. Nasser has little respect for most of the other club bosses, so that will give the Roosters a big in when it's time to chat. It's a long time away, but post World Cup get set for a year of guessing where Cooper will end up.

The only relevant part of that article is Khoder Nasser. He'll be using the Roosters to milk Cooper a $1m contract at another team with a proviso Cooper is allowed to focus on his boxing career.

      1. Cooper
      6. Carney
      7. Pearce

      I'd LOVE to see that!

With Aubs, anasta and FPN in the pack...they will do jack.

          This is farcical.

I want to follow a proper, honest rugby league team again.

Cooper has a great step and can throw some amazing passes, he's very flashy and the space at FB would probably suit him. Lot of Benji in his game.

              BUT

he also looked woeful in his first few years with the Reds, he threw some shocking speculators, went himself when terribly isolated and his decision making can still be suspect at times. Not sure how much League experience he has, he could take to it immediately or he could be a total dud

              AND

he will want a squillion dollars.

Genia is the actual gun Union player. His service from the ruck is so quick and he makes great attacking decisions. It's easy for a backline to look slick when the defensive team is always on the back foot and the ball is recycling at a million miles an hour. Don't know how well he would translate to League but he's the major reason the Reds play such attractive footy.

This has been Nick's plan for the last decade - watch TV, listen to commentary and make long term recruitment decisions based on gut feelings and delusional expectations.

                  Chook.

I don't know why people are complaining.

It is very simple - Quade Cooper is a complete freak.

At the moment, our options for fullback are as follows: Anthony Minichiello, Phil Graham, and Rhys Pritchard.

Cooper has a better passing game than anyone in our side, and probably a better step too. He'd kill it at fullback.

                    BUT.

The most important thing was what Melon said - with FPN and Anasta in the forward pack, we'll go nowhere.

We need a tough, honest forward. Like an Aiden Tolman, or a Gallen. Someone who does the hard stuff before the Quade Coopers prance around.

Until we **** off the soft shit in our pack, it won't matter what backs we sign. If Cooper's signing comes with a couple of tough nuts up front, we'll be a force.

Maybe its a back up plan for if Carney gets on the cans this offseason

Indeed. The chances of Carney lasting until the end of next season without a major incident is probably low. It will be a major surprise to see carney last his 4 yr contract here.

QC is abit of a Hayne/Benji combo.
Unorthodox, erratic, but brilliant in attack!
                              But a turnstile.

O'Connor would be the one I would go for, and a lot cheaper.
Would kill it at fullback in league. Is Slateresque in attack, dodgy in defence.

Would not surprise me if QC is the first marque signing by the new Brisbane team!
Plus he comes with the Mundine filth entourange!!!
