    From the Tele
hat's the Buzz: Sonny Bill Williams could make an NRL return

RUGBY league hasn’t seen the last of the great Sonny Bill Williams.

He will be 33 when his contract with the All Blacks expires after the 2019 World Cup and, rest assured, he has no plans to retire.

SBW has noticed how the likes of Cameron Smith, Paul Gallen and Luke Lewis are still firing at around the same age and showing absolutely no signs of slowing down.

It was a subject discussed when Roosters boss Nick Politis had lunch last week with SBW’s agent, Khoder Nasser, in Rushcutters Bay.

There is even talk he might finish his career with a club like Wigan in the English Super League where he could earn nearly $3 million for two seasons.

BUZZ: Saint, Sinner and Shoosh Sonny Bill Williams could return to the Roosters. Pic Brett Costello
Whatever happens, SBW will finish up at the Roosters in some capacity.

Whether they can afford to have him as a player remains to be seen but, long term, Politis wants him to play a mentoring/coaching role at the Chooks.

He was part of the club’s 2013 premiership-winning side and played a big role in fixing a bad culture.

    Would be nice. But.................

As far as playing goes forget about it, will never happen.

Leaving aside the fact he is becoming more injury prone than ever (and don;t forget, looked like he was phoning it in towards the end of 2014), the most we'd be able to outlay without shedding more than 1 player (presumably Maubs) would be about $350 - $400k.

As an assistant on the coaching staff? **** yes - i'd give him whatever it takes.

Wont be happening only way SBW will be back at the Roosters is in a post football of any code capacity(i.e when he's retired)- Rothfield would even try to make you believe the earth is flat- a total hack of a so called reporter and well known for making most things up to grab a headline as they say.

If he personally feels like it he will

I reckon if he did come back it would be under the conditions he is not used as a battering ram as he was in 2014.
On the edge he would be great and maybe easier on the body.
But to be honest Nick and Khoder were probably just catching up for a coffee and right now they are laughing their heads off.

              Is it impossible?

SBW marches to the beat of his own drum and I wouldn't rule it out.
Maybe it's wishful thinking, but I would LOVE to have him back at the club.

Wont happen. Can probably earn 2 or 3 times more money in union without getting bashed up like he would in NRL.

SBW manager was seen having lunch with Uncle Nick so drama queen Phil Rothfield decides it could be about SBW coming back. Typical junk.

It'd be worth it just for the other teams outcry.

Also even though he's probably gotten slower with age I wouldn't mind him at right centre. It'd be easier on his body and it'd fix our defence, if we put Manu on the wing with Sonny inside him.

There's a lot more money in English league or doing a "mundine" and beating up on retired boxers with beer guts.
But is that what Sonny wants?

I like it, but doubt it'll happen unfortunately.

Opposing centres would shit themselves trying to stop his offload. His body would handle playing centre, but get smashed in the back row.

He can play half, he played a couple of great games in the halves in 13. We need a number 7.

Pierce is a natural centre and too dumb to be our organiser...or he can do a gallen take some peps and become a lock like his dad lol.
