The understatement of the decade
"Without him our club will probably be history"
With him it's more likely. And even if you're right, if in 16 years as chairman, he's failed to succession plan or been unable to build a foundation that guarantees the clubs survival when he is gone, is even more reason why he must go now

Powerhouse? We're not a ****ing powerhouse. We're an inefficient, underperforming club with an untouchable board and an out of touch, domineering chairman.

Actually, off the field we are one of the strongest sporting clubs in Australia.
Easts Group includes:
Kingswood Sports Club
Berkeley Sports Club
They are also constructing a new state of the art Sports Club at Narellan
They have also recently acquired Waverley Bowling Club. This piece of land itself is priceless.
Clovelly Bowling Club has been targeted.
It is a private company so we cannot access the financial statements (unless you pay a fee to ASIC)…. But I am certain that the group has made good profits over the last 15 years……..
Just had a look at the annual report year ending 31 October 2007.
Easts Group has assets of $70 million (including $20 million in investment properties)
It recorded a profit of $87,000 for that year, but that was after the grant to the football club which was $4.2 million. In 2006 the grant was $4.25 million.
Not sure what it was in 2008 or 2009.
I am certain that as a member of the club, you would receive the annual report via email. JT might be able to assist in this...
They are building a very good club. That’s the way to do it.
Maybe his footballing decisions haven’t been great, but you can’t deny that the club has a solid financial base.
That is all thanks to Nick. You cannot argue this.
Without him, the club would not exist and you would have to find other pastimes and pursuits to entertain yourself.
END OF STORY.
I await the response from the Chookpen's new Guru.Born and bred in the eastern suburbs.

If indeed the club is in a financially sound position, then that's great. But that's the job of the board. Not sure how you can look into your reverse crystall ball and leap from there to assuming that no-one else could have done it, and as such without him the club wouldn't exist, but that's probably just your flawed thinking popping up again. My entire point is that that's what he should be doing. What he shouldn't be doing is having ANY involvement with recruitment and day to day football club operations. He is a hopeless, terrible judge, as shown by his appalling record. But he can't accept that. It's his call, and that's it. He's given the club it's transit lounge reputation.
But if you want to have a club that owns every bowling club in the area, and you want to assess him on how many bowling clubs they own, then that's nice.
Do you like bowling?

It is more than a fair assumption to make and carries a lot more weight than your fairy tales do.
